Facial hair, i'm getting well paranoid about mine

I have naturally very dark hair and have always been a very hairy person . Have very hairy arms, legs etc etc and have always hated that, but learnt to live with it as obviously most of it is covered up, and who the hell is looking anyway.

However, since I had ds nearly five years ago, my facial hair seems to have gone alot darker. I have always had a bit of a tash and use immac for that, but now i seem to be getting a bit of a beard . It's very fine hair, and hopefully not as noticable as I think, as I do have to get quite close to the mirror to see it, but it is making me totally paranoid and I hate it.

My confidence is zilch as it is.

What if anything, can I do that isn't expensive ?

So, how often would it need doing then do you think ?? Oh and do you not end up with a very red face afterwards ?

Depends how much hair there is

I have mine done every 2 or 3 weeks but I have got PCOS so it is mega hormonal

And no I don't have a red face afterwards

Kelly comes to my house to do it so is mega private and relaxing

RTKangaMummy · 21/09/2007 20:56

But I have been having it done for several years so I am used to it and so I don't react to it iyswim

Blossomhill · 21/09/2007 21:26

Does it grow back thicker on the chin though RTKM? I have tash done but not my odd beard hair lol

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 21:31

Sounds good Kanga, wonder if there is anyone round by me that would do it in my home.

can immac be used for beard?

turquoisenights · 21/09/2007 21:36

or facial form of veet?

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 21:36

I have dark hair too, and if I let it grow I would have a 'tash. BUT ... I have waxed for years and years. It takes two minutes and its so worth it. Plus it gets thinner over the years, so now my 'tash is hardly there.
Nair do top lip wax strips for about a fiver in Boots which are really good. (used to be crap in the olden days but are really good now)

But I would advise against immacing your upper lip. Depilitary cream causes the hair to grow back coarser (in many cases). Avoid it.

Waxing is the way forward!

RTKangaMummy · 21/09/2007 21:37

No it is less than it was although it does depend on my hormone levels at the time

iyswim

Kelly used to be in a salon and then she moved to Hampshire but still comes back up to here {NW LONDON - HERTFORDSHIRE - MIDDLESEX} once a week and it is really deffo brill

I would deffo get a recommendation for a theapaist

Lizzzombie · 21/09/2007 21:39

have a look here VEET is really good. I promise. I am a total obsessive with body hair removal (tmi I know) and have tried about every brand going!

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 21:40

Yeah my tash does grow back very coarse

RTKangaMummy · 21/09/2007 21:41

Tottie32 · 21/09/2007 21:42

i cream my top lip as it is painless couldnt bear to wax it sounds to painful, my friend bought a hair removr thing off ebay it is like a coilt that you roll across the hair and it pulls it out, she thinks it is fab, and she has had probs for years

Blossomhill · 21/09/2007 21:43

I am going for laser but also there is a new product on the market that slows down hair growth called vanique I think? You have to get on prescription.

oregonianabroad · 21/09/2007 21:43

I am getting some really sacry chin/neck hairs too. someone has told me it is the hormones from carrying 2 boys. whatever, it is horrible, I pluck them all out. ugh.

RTKangaMummy · 21/09/2007 21:44

A tip for the WAX VIRGINS stick your tongue in the bit going to be waxed

It stetches the skin and so it is much better

Tottie32 · 21/09/2007 21:44

think it is called epicare on ebay

nutcracker · 21/09/2007 21:44

That may be right about carrying boys, as I never had any problems until i had a boy.
