Please can you tell me which nail strengthener has worked for you?

My nails are terrible after having had gel for years. I’ve been using Opi nail strengthener for about 6 weeks but haven’t noticed any improvement.

Any recommendations? Thank you

Honestly, baby oil always works best for me

Another one for baby oil here. I've found the two biggest changes for me, though, have been better nutrition (I take hair, skin and nails supplements too) and wearing gloves for washing up and housework

Thank you both. Hadn’t thought of baby oil. I do take some nail and hair supplements though.

I use baby oil for a lot of things, it's a really useful product but I'm not sure what it's actually meant for 🤷🏻‍♀️

Would oil help strengthen nails? I can see how it would moisturise and nourish, but would it strengthen too?

Vaseline works a treat, just rubs tiny bit on each day. Massage round the cuticles.

I’ve been using Dr Paw Paw(which is same consistency as Vaseline) and that’s worked well too. My nails are the strongest they’ve been for a long time

The only thing that works for me quickly is OPI nail envy.

I always use sally Hansen base coat. Not entirely sure what it does but it’s amazing

Vitamin D supplement! My nails were much the same, had gel for ages and they never really recovered, always peeling and breaking, then I started taking vit d a couple of months ago and my god, the difference in my nails!! I've had to cut them, they're so long and strong!

Rimmel Nail nurse. Cheap as chips and the only thing that has ever worked for me. You do have to keep cuticles moisturised though as it can dry them.

Sorry realised it is by CND, not OPI.

Opi nail envy, a decent oil on cuticles several times a day and plenty of hand cream should do the trick

I find that having regular gels causes my nails to become really dry and brittle. Moisturising is exactly what they need to repair! I used to think that leaving them unpainted made them stronger, but as a PP said, Sally Hansen base coat makes them shiny and stronger so I use that too. I also use vitamin e cream on my cuticles, mine is just Superdrug own brand and works well when I have gels on too
