I am 34 and don't know how to polish shoes - help me please.

I use furniture polish....not sure what the 'proper' way is.

Don't know which brands are best or anything - I think we've always used Kiwi. You use a brush or cloth to rub polish onto the shoe, then a clean brush/cloth to buff off.

we use kiwi tin polish and a brush.
clean any crap off shoes. kind of pat the brush into the polish (you don't want to get too much on) and then rub vigorously into the leather.
buff up with a nice cloth.
obv you will need different brushes for different colour polishes.

and yes, build up a nice protective layer of polish- will help make them more water resistant and keep them looking nice

Your parents obviously didn't chuck you in the boot cupboard every time you were naughty then...

You need two brushes for each colour polish: one to put the polish on, one to buff. Then use a duster or shammy leather for a shine. Only keep going til you can see your reflection if you are in the army - mind you, patent is in this season?
