I am feeling glum today - all my clothes are naff, and I have no money (was even toying with idea of ordering whole wardrobe from catalogue and paying pence a week!

I have a couple of nice pairs of jeans and a pair of black cords, which will see me through winter, so was thinking of dresses for an instant outfit that looks like I have made an effort!

I am a size 16, 5ft6, 34E (well supported) , big bum and hips. Pear shape basically but I have a waist. Find Aline and v necks usually the way to go.

So please help me find some nice dresses that won't break the bank that will smarten me up - I looked like a right slattern on the school run this morning!

Bit plain, but easily glammed up with a good necklace. The classic wrap dress.
Satin belt may be too much for daytime, but could replace with a different belt?
(that last link was the petite version, here's the other one).
Another wrap one,
Not sure about this one - satin collar.

Wow thanks JN! Was really praying no one put up a dress I loved and could't afford!

I think I will do an order of those and try em on at home! I agree that belt is a bit much , will decide on collar dress when I see it for real as it's hard to tell from pics I think.

Wra dresses are nice, think they might be way to go.

Yes - you never really know till you've tried things on. ALso the satin belt one might be useful, because you have 2 dresses in one - if you can find another more daytimey belt to wear with it. Good luck.

(by the way - I only got as far as page 4 of 10 of the dresses there, so here are the rest - you might find more you fancy)

you are s right with the first one jackie - waht a fab colour - can be dressed up or donw

i like the satin belt = ok looks dressy with heels but with boots and chunky cardi could look dressed down

well done JO
