forget the coat with a hood - here's a REAL challenge

find a coat for my mum

she wants one just like my new Lands End squall parka cos it is warm and water resistant

but I don't want her to have the same coat as me because she will look MAD in it she will team it with unsuitable MAD hat and everyone will realise it's the same coat and mine will look MAD by association

she wears MAD coats like little old ladies queueing in Woolworths wears and wants to look better so as not to embarrass dh (what about embarrassing ME for the last 30 odd years???)

she wants a long coat

it needs to be warm

it needs to be cheap (under £40 if poss)

it needs to be water-resistant

it needs not to look INSANE

please

Your poor mum

Peachy · 18/09/2007 17:09

surely like little old aldies queuing outside Northern rock?.... (woolies did seem very quiet today actually...)

Cappuccino · 18/09/2007 17:14

oh Cammelia you have no idea

really you have none

she once stopped one of my friends in the street wearing one of those woolly alpaca type hats and said "Tell my daughter I you saw me and I didn't have my hat strings tied together"

MrsBadger · 18/09/2007 17:14

how often are you seen with her?

does she need a hood?

Cappuccino · 18/09/2007 17:15

no MrsB she would only put it on over the unsuitable hat

which has to cover her ears very closely so no style possibilities there

she wears a snood

oh god

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 18/09/2007 17:19
