Are ponchos practical?

For a girl age 3 that is?

I've seen a lovely one but not sure if its practical or not.

depends how active she is
jumper/cardigan generally warmer and more useful

my 6 year old had one last year

it was very practical in that she didn't have to fart about with buttons

I had one for dd - good in this chagable weather as they can be in a cardigan and then you can sling it over the top if it is colder than you thought.

Thanks, I was thinking of it to sling over other things it it was cold. My dd hates the cold in the morning dropping ds off at school.
