How often do you dye your eyebrows?

Hi everyone, I've been dyeing my eyebrows for a few years now (I have nearly black hair and find that dyeing my eyebrows helps enormously in reducing the need to fill them in with make up and also means I am happier when going make up free) and while I am happy with it, I find it a chore as I have to do it every four weeks or so. How often do you do it? And do those of you who also dye their lashes find that that makes a difference too? I tried that but didn't notice much change. My eyebrows and lashes are very dark already but while I can see the point of doing my eyebrows, I can't really be bothered to do my lashes as the colour doesn't seem to make enough difference. Thoughts?

Er, never??? Is this a thing???

This Grin

I'm so out of touch. It would never cross my mind to dye my eyebrows Grin

Krazynights34 · 25/04/2020 20:52

Literally never knew it could be done 😳

doubleshotespresso · 25/04/2020 21:15

Interested in this thread- are there any fellow redheads who could kindly recommend a suitable colour?
I'm very very fair-skinned so don't want to end up looking like I've used a sharpie pen!

novacaneforthepain · 25/04/2020 21:26

@doubleshotespresso hi, I am a therapist, also teach beauty therapy. I am blonde and swear by grey tint for blonde hair. Anyone I have ever used it on or recommend it to has never gone back to brown (for brows)

dementedma · 25/04/2020 21:28

Never. I didn’t even know it was a thing!

Itstime1 · 25/04/2020 21:42

I get mine done (eyebrows and lash tint) every 3 weeks (ish). Mine are white blonde naturally so they need tinting. I’ve used the kit from boots before to top up whenever I can’t get to the salon (like in lockdown!)

PuppyMonkey · 25/04/2020 21:53

Honestly don’t do it. Just draw in with a pencil if you need to. Dying eyebrows makes you look like Angry Birds.

doubleshotespresso · 25/04/2020 22:46

@novacaneforthepain thanks so much-interesting! I'll look it up

SunshineOverStress · 25/04/2020 22:55

I do mine every week at home!

Redlocks28 · 25/04/2020 22:58

I have never even considered it! I didn’t know it was a thing!

LochJessMonster · 25/04/2020 23:01

Eyebrow thread and tint and eye lash tint every month or so.
Makes such a difference to my face and means I don’t have to do much makeup in the day.

Interesting about dying brows yourself, not something I had considered.

Devlesko · 26/04/2020 00:08

I've never heard of this, I'm quite often amazed at what's new that we never did Grin

Ginfordinner · 26/04/2020 00:12

Never. Although my hair is going grey I still have dark eyebrows and eye lashes.

Sadiesnakes · 26/04/2020 05:48

Every week, at least I try to. I use refectoCil also, really easy and quick and means no need to faff about with brow pencils.

Nikhedonia · 26/04/2020 12:02

I've bought some eyelure thanks to this thread. I've been thinking about plucking my eyebrows into shape but they are so fair I know I'll over pluck.

Dyeing them and then plucking the strays is sensible right? I'll be able to see the shape much better... I think?

trumpisaflump · 26/04/2020 12:20

I need to start doing this while salons are closed. I'm blonde and look washed out when I don't dye my eyebrows. I didn't have time to pencil them in on the mornings.
Could someone please advise on a grey tint? I've seen this recommended lots for blondes but don't know which one to try.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/04/2020 15:53

I tint mine every few weeks and do lashes at the same time.i use Strictly Professional tint and developer. I usually have them threaded once a fortnight.

fedupwiththisshitnow · 26/04/2020 16:36

My eyebrows are very fair. I tint them every 3-4 weeks

duckme · 26/04/2020 16:58

Every couple of week. But my eyebrows and lashes are basically clear and I look like I've just been dug up without having them dyed. Like you, I'm happy to go make up free if I have them dyed.

HelloChompy · 26/04/2020 20:43

I only started getting mine dyed a few months ago, along with getting them shaped and my eyelashes tinted. Before lockdown I was getting them done every 4 weeks.

user1494055864 · 27/04/2020 11:54

I have just successfully dyed my eyebrows using the Eyelure dark brown. I usually have grey, really sparse eyebrows, but they look normal now. I am so happy with the results, I can now go out make up free!
I used to pay £7 a fortnight to have them done, but I will be doing them myself from now on.

DelphiniumBlue · 27/04/2020 18:25

I've been using Eyelure, it's really easy, I don't bother with vaseline or any of that faff, as it doesn't seem to stain the skin around. Just leave it for 10 mins or so, if the colour doesn't come out strong enough, reapply and leave it on for a bit longer.
I mostly get my eyebrows dyed when getting them shaped, but have been doing myself occasionally for years, it's not a new thing at all.
It looks very natural, I just look a bit less faded!
I'm about to try doing my eyelashes, which I guess will be more difficult.

BlackSwan · 27/04/2020 19:24

Another vote for RefectoCil every couple of weeks. It's what they use at Benefit brow bar, or it used to be.

BluebellSurprise · 27/04/2020 20:48

Inspired by this thread I tinted my brows today with "Just for Men" beard dye. I'm so pleased with the results! Thank you Grin
