I’ve just cut my own fringe and now I look 10 years older

Oh god.
I’ve not had a fringe since I was a kid. Thought lockdown would be a good chance to try out the look.
I’ve not done a bad job but it just doesn’t suit me at all, I look 10 years older.
Luckily I don’t have work for the next 2 weeks, at which point I should be able to pin it back for any video conferences.

I’ve got my short do, which now looks like a mushroom, tied right up with a pair of tights. At least it grows!

If you want to look abnormal too, simply take a pair of opaques, slide the waist bit over the head, Ease it back the hairline, take a leg in each hand and wrap from the back . Perfecto.

I might give that a try it can’t look any worse than it already does

Oh my gosh I was literally this morning thinking of cutting me a lockdown fringe. So your disaster is not in vain op. At least you have saved one other person from fringe regret.

I asked dh if I now look better he said yes 100%.

Well at least I know now. It could have been worse it could have been just before a holiday or big night out

Oh god. A few weeks ago, I cut my own short pixie cut, it was all different lengths, yesterday I was so sick of it, I shaved it all off, I look like GI Jane! A proper buzz cut. Caught myself in the mirror this morning, what have I done!!! I am too fat in the face for this to look good. I wanted to get rid of any dye and start again fresh.

At least I am at home and don't have to go out, I will put on a hat to go for a walk.

How long will it take to grow out? help

Thankfully I'm trying to grow my fringe out. Lockdown is the best time to do it. I usually get fed up and cut it myself. I've got it pinned back with dd's unicorn clips.

First day of lockdown I woke up to 3 of my ds's playing Barber shops..

3 weeks on I wish that was the most stressful bit of having dc at home 24/7!!

You put it too far forward mine turned out ok but it was away from my forehead and I took it an inch at a time

I dyed my hair garnet red it looked good till I washed it and it fell out in patches (the dye not the hair) I have a brown dye to go over it but the top of my hair is holding the dye I'm not sure if the brown would cover it so I need to hold me nerve and wait for the permanent dye to fade

I've been cutting my own hair for years yet somehow managed to do a real hack job of it today. I planned to tidy it up but then got distracted by a half used tube of hair removal cream in my collection of stuff. Against my better judgement, I decided to slather it over my pubes. I'm now a mess at both ends.

I cut DD’s hair. She has really thick hair and it’s gone kind of bouffant-y and weird and mullet-y all at once. She looks like a 4 year old Wham! era George Michael tribute act.

DH (probably wisely) won’t let me cut his or DS’s.

It was totally covered day one this was after washing day two it just dropped 🤷‍♀️ and faded it was brighter before 😳

A couple of years ago, I followed a YouTube tutorial on how to trim your own hair. Gather it up in a ponytail, a little like a unicorn horn. And then snip.

I only wanted half an inch off so thought this would be perfect. So I did it, shook my hair out and ... nothing. Didn't look any different. So I put it back up in the band again and this time snipped a bit more. Shook out again, and nope, no different.

Went in a 3rd time and went a teeny bit deeper on the cut. Shook my hair out and yep, I'd given myself a full on mullet. I had to clip back my fringe for 8 months and it took two years to get back to one length again.

Shan't repeat this

I cut my hair yesterday. It Is Horrific. I wish I could turn back time and undo it. I can’t bear to walk past any mirrors in my house.

I am trying the inversion method (basically hang your head upside down and massage scalp for 4 mins daily) as apparently this helps it grow.

I'm considering a buzz cut. My hair is usually shoulder length but it's about 8 inches too long and driving me nuts at the moment.

I have watched 6 videos in the last few dats of women cutting their hair. So so bad. Why? Just why? I don't get it. Has made me seriously laugh though.
