Ankle boots with leggings?

Am going out tomorrow with trendy younger souls than I for a good night out and a larf (I need it!)

Have bought new dress (slim-shape smock dress) which I would usually wear with trews rather than leggings as I have cankles... but what about wearing them with 3/4 length black leggings and black ankle boots (little bit of leg showing but no more than 1 inch)?

MUtton dressed as mutton or OK?

I wouldnt wear leggings with ankle boots.

belt around dress if it works? waists very in now, smocks not so much...if you follow that kind of thing, or indeed care...

No to leggings and ankle boots with an inch gap - it will make your legs look odd.

Wear good quality tights with the ankle boots, or wear leggings with flats.
