Hair needs cutting, dry frizzy ends and lank on the top - how can I treat it till lockdown ends?

My hair was cut and coloured in December, and has started to clearly need another cut now (I generally go twice or three times a year.) It looks flat at the top, and the last inch or so feels dry and frizzy, and I suspect it'll only get worse!

Can anyone recommend a good treatment or way of getting through while making it look as presentable as possible? I am not keen on wearing it up a lot as I think it makes my double chin too prominent (something that's not being helped with the current situation!) It goes past my shoulders so is quite long, and has highlights (am naturally mousey blonde.)

Is it all one length? I find the longer my hair the easier it is to give myself a trim. See some YouTube techniques - what’s the worst that could happen? I use the method where you put your hair into a low bobble and gently slide the bobble down in line with your spine (might be good if you have someone less do this if you aren’t very flexible) to an inch or so above the ends then flick the ends round to the front to give them a trim just to tidy the ends up until you get a bit braver. Do this a couple of times taking the hair out and brushing it back to make sure there are no stray bits being left behind.

I trim my hair using the method in this video, but I don't take as much off as she does. It works really well. Makes it look a lot fresher.

The top of head pony tail chop works very well indeed. I have done it on myself and DD. DD prefers me to cut her hair like that over going to the hairdressers.

My hair is bleached and I use aphogee 2 step protein treatment once a month. It stinks but its a must for me. Conditioner won't work to repair hair, it needs a protein treatment. Followed by "its a 10 miracle hair mask" its pricey but worth it.
Oil your ends regularly and conditioner is your friend.
Sometimes I wash my hair and just leave conditioner in for a few hours before I wash it off. With lockdown it will be easy to do that at least Grin
