I think two showers a day is drying my nips out.

Can this happen? I’ve got lanolin on them now & im sitting with my boobs out till it soaks in.

Is this a “thing”? I took to accutane last year with no nipple problems.

I am having a similar issue and assumed it was to do with not having worn a bra for weeks! More jiggling about, more chafing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2020 17:20

I haven’t been wearing a bra either! Maybe it’s chafing and not dryness then.

I get this but it had been happening before all this.
Just posting to say I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I just soak in moisturiser.

Mrsjayy · 16/04/2020 17:24

Why are you showering twice a day ? Maybe though put e45 on and if you have a soft bra wear that save rubbing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2020 17:27

I like to shower in the morning so I’m clean then again to get my sun block off.

The pain feels like they’ve been bitten.

if you are just sitting in garden the shower to remove sunblock will get you clean you will not get dirty overnight generally it is thought that too much washing ( more than once a day) can damage skin etc
like how increasing washing hands due to covid is making many peoples hand chapped etc chapped hands with broken skin then become a higher risk as even harder to get clean without pain
unless someone is working in a particularily dirty environment showering twice a day is not necessary or desirable

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2020 19:05

Yes I could stop the morning shower, it’s just habit.

Another one here asking why you’re showering twice a day? I’m more inclined to shower less during lockdown....😬😳

Mischance · 16/04/2020 19:10

Two showers a day is excessive. Our skin is not meant to be assaulted and its natural oils obliterated so often.

JollyGiraffe12 · 16/04/2020 19:36

I would advise just showering at night so you’re nice and fresh for bed but if you prefer to shower twice then use a really thick moisturiser/body butter or Vaseline on the painful areas before a shower and that should protect them from the irritation of too much washing

Raffathebear · 16/04/2020 20:12

If you're breastfeeding is it thrush?
I would use lansinoh or coconut or almond oil.

BrokenNails · 17/04/2020 06:24

I shower twice a day with no issues and have done for years. Try wearing a bra for a week again and see if it improves. Alternatively, try showering less and see if it improves. But it's probably chafing rather than washing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/04/2020 07:13

My new bra arrives today. I’m only a 28D so you’d think you could just go bra-less.
