Best bra brands for the larger of Nork??

hecciesmum · 14/09/2007 09:19

I have finally accepted that I will never have boobs the size they used to be post 2 children...all my wee, lacy bras are bound for the bin.....32 DD now. Oh well - if I'm honest I prefer them this size. BUT, I'm finding getting decent bras kind of tough...Most of them make my boobs look miles apart...they are too wide in the middle and i think it makes me look fatter....

Interested in which brands you think are best ...have just bought a bra from panache who i have never used before - it's pretty good....

any others to be recommended??

Freya and Fantasie both do pretty things

JodieG1 · 14/09/2007 09:22

Bravissimo have lots to choose from and they are the best at fitting imo. I was a 34E last time I was measured but that was in pregnancy and I'm breastfeeding now and wearing nursing bras. I need to go and get measured again soon as I'm probably a 32 again as I was before.

La Senza are great for pretty everyday stuff

brimfull · 14/09/2007 09:25

I think a lot fo the good brands, fantasie, freya, ballet etc will lift and seperate your norks.
If you don't want that look you need to look for a pluge bra ,or balcony I think.

i loathe plain nude bras, too surgical. neighbour has them and matching thongs they look revolting on the line. go and get measured properly at john lewis or similar. if they fit properly shouldn't show thorugh yoru clothes.

Furzella · 14/09/2007 09:29

Rigby and Peller are brilliant at fitting - there was a thread on this quite recently. They also do lots of their bras online. My favourite makes are Rigby and Peller's own stuff, Aubade and Marie Jo for posh stuff ( but ooch, they're expensive) and Prima Donna for everyday. This bra satin is my absolute everyday favourite (though it's not pretty) because it gives the most brilliant shape. My husband's not v keen but under clothes it's the bees knees (or the storks norks?!).

i used to think that but increasing bra budget solved all lumpy probs.

Furzella · 14/09/2007 09:34

Sorry, and I know they're all hideously expensive but after years of squashing my boobs into cheap 36C bras, the amazing revelation of a 34E Rigby and Peller was enough to make me keep remortgaging the house for the rest of my life in order to get good underwear. I think if you've got big boobs you do look fat unless you invest in fab undies, at which point you lose a dress size and become the envy of tiddlytits the land over...

fishie · 14/09/2007 09:34

doesn't show anything

hecciesmum · 14/09/2007 09:34

Ii'm ok re the size - I know i am a 32DD as I have been measured and the panache 32dd i bought fits better than anything I've ever owned and does actually lift and seperate.....it makes me actually look alot thinner (yippeee) it's just that they are not that pretty....I'd like a couple of seduction items too...

will have a look at the freya....

thanks

i've got a white one! actually my white tshirt is fairly thick so even red bra doesn't show. i have 2yo and work in crypt (cold) so white tshirts do not make appearances very often.

hecciesmum · 14/09/2007 09:39

you work in a crypt??? what do you do.....Dracula's missus?

thought you didn't want them seperated?

hecciesmum · 14/09/2007 09:42

Want them seperated the right amount.....fine line between being far enough apart, or looking like they are heading in opposite directions.

DOn't like plunge bra's at all as I feel like i just have one nenormous nork.....generally go for balconette instead.

It's just that some brands are too widely spaced in the middle and it kjust "looks odd"...can't explain it really - I obviously have oddly shaped tits!

Also different bras come up in different sizes so you need to try them on. All brands are different. I'd still go to bravissimo and get one there and they fit them properly.

controlfreaky2 · 14/09/2007 09:54

yer dont want white undies under white tops..... you want nude. really.
