is there a temporary hair colour that will cover grey hair?

I've had grey hair for decades now (I went grey pretty young) and I'd like to seize the opportunity of lockdown to try a different hair colour, but want it to be temporary.
Is this possible? Can anyone recommend a product?

Is your hair a uniform grey now? Or is it dyed professionally and showing grey roots?

If it's grey all over, your best option is to use a semi permanent dye. This will fade gradually over about 6 weeks. It really depends what sort of colour you want to achieve though.

It's uniform grey - no dying.
I know it sounds crazy, but I was thinking of trying a spray-on metallic dye, like Hush Prism.

The spray on Hush dye is a great idea if you want a very temporary colour. It will wash out straight away after. The only downside is that it can rub off on your hands, pillow case, hairbrush etc if you touch it too much and can make your hair texture feel a bit weird while it's on. Also be careful in rain! The good side is that it won't damage your hair and if you hate it, just wash it out.

Another option is to use a toner on your hair. You apply it when you wash your hair like a conditioner, leave for a couple of mins then rinse out. That will last until you next wash your hair. Superdrug do some good ones, look up shaders and toners on their website. Your hair will still look grey but with a subtle tone of whatever colour you choose. The upside is they also make your hair very shiny and the colour won't transfer to other fabrics.
