Ok, not sure if this qualifies as style but - I have been attending a pilates class for a few months now, am enjoying it but am now sick of looking old fashioned and frumpy with ancient black jogging bottoms which are a bit too long and a top which is a size too small now I am officially 'obese' (according to my 91 yr old Grandma anyway).
I am skint atm so can't afford the 'custom made' outfits the other girls have got which look gorgeous but want something that looks a bit better and is comfy.
Does anyone know where I could find something?

I am a size 12 (on the plumpish side of) and quite short at 5'3".

Any help gratefully received

If you're quite short (like me) maybe some cropped leggings, and do you want a vest style top or something with short sleeves?
(and ignore your grandma - size 12 is in no way obese).

JackieNo · 12/09/2007 22:19

(btw, am suggesting cropped leggings because I know how difficult it can be to find short enogh full length ones, iyswim).

Something like these?

JackieNo · 12/09/2007 22:33

Have seen Sweaty Betty stuff recommended on here, but it's a bit more expensive than M&S.

Wisteria · 12/09/2007 22:39

Thank you JNo (sounds like JLo!)

Really like those M&S ones! Not sure about the tops, think a strappy one might be best as I seem to be get quite hot .

Thank you so much, just within the budget as well I think (will be at end of the month anyway )...meanwhile shall carry on tripping over my oversize baggy ones!!

. Should be plenty of vest-style tops around, hopefully. Something like this could be good (though quite pricey).

Wisteria · 12/09/2007 22:50

Can probably stretch to that (just) tis lovely, but neither colour would look particularly fetching (am redhead with pale freckly skin), couple that with red panting face and the results are quite vomit making! - be nice in other colours tho'!

Will be back tomorrow - have to go before I get told off for ignoring dp

Thank you loads though, they're good sites will have a gander tomorrow when I'm supposed to be working!!

Ah, I see what you mean about the colours. This looks nice, and though it does have a bit of pink in it, it's not much, and not near your face.

JackieNo · 12/09/2007 23:05

Blue looks nice. So does this, and better prices too. In fact, Here is the whole vest top section. Hope you find something.

Obese at size 12

Your grandma may be a lovely old lady but she is also as mad as a box of frogs (I am quite sure I have that saying wrong)

MrsMarvel · 12/09/2007 23:20

Always wear painted toenails. People just look at your feet then.

Wisteria · 13/09/2007 11:31

no handle, it was from that other thread wasn't it and it is rather good - think you have it right!

Will try the painted toenails thing - should make more of an effort anyway, always struggle logistically with painting toenails IYSWIM so will have to bribe teenage daughter to do it for me. Will probably cost me a galaxy!

Anyhow thank you 'muchly' for all your help/ advice, I will order some stuff at the end of the month and look extra professional in the lesson (until I fall over and break my nose revealing my true ineptitude!!)
