mine are-
cacharel coat (from la redoute)- v cool and colourful, always gets commented on- sadly now looking more shabbyu than chic £280 worth every penny

ghost dress £90 reduced from £180. i only bought it a coupl of weeks ago but it makes me feel more sexy and fabulous than anything i have ever worn ever ever ever. want more now though!

ugg boots £140 the comfiest and warmest foot attire on the planet yet still look slightly trendy in them if a wee bit behind the times.

all brilliant brialliant buys but expensive for me (not including ball type dresses). yet i have wasted hundreds and hundreds on cheapo tat i have never worn

Me too for uggs!

Boots from Duo (about £110, I think) - but the only ones that have fitted my humongous calves. Have had them 2 years, worn them loads, and anticipate them lasting at least a couple more years.

flowerybeanbag · 12/09/2007 18:59

Marc Jacobs bag.

To be fair, I used it every single day when I was working in London, and it is also scrummy, it is the one in Devil Wears Prada, if anyone has seen it, the one whatserface gives to her mate.

I am too embarrassed to say how much it was, but I paid half and DH paid half as my birthday pressie.

indiasmum · 12/09/2007 19:12

oooh flowerybeanbag am sosososos

but you know, price per wear and all that..... prob the same as buying a tatty old one from primark every week for a few (ahem) years...

Indeed.

Camper shoes. They were half-price (shoudl have been £100) but I have worn them virtually every day for 2 years, they feel like soft slippers and still look quite funky (for me!). I would shell out full-price for another pair of Camper's if I was in love with them.

brimfull · 12/09/2007 20:01

god am trying to think of something I have paid a lot for.........

nope I am too cheap.

Did get a lovely suede jacket(denim jacket style) reduced from £165 to £35 and is so fab I would pay full price to replace it.

Oh Oh ,just remembered ,russel and bromley ankle boots, expensive for me ,but well worth it as have worn them loads for about 3 yrs nnow

PestoMonster · 12/09/2007 20:04

My MBT's. They cost £133 but I wear them nearly every day and are brilliant for improving your posture and consequently my back problem has eased off a lot.

DulwichDolly · 12/09/2007 20:05

Marc Jacobs winter coat.... TOO ASHAMED TO EVEN REMIND MYSELF OF THE PRICE!

My O'Neill fleeces - much better quality than cheaper fleeces and really warm. Deffo worth the expense.

lovey · 15/09/2007 18:43

..ralph lauren evening dress

StarryStarryNight · 15/09/2007 18:55

oooohhh
I bought a lovely winter coat in a boutique not far from me, set me back £275.

A handbag for £250 - such wonderful leather, totally in love 2 years later...

It is not a habit, I am usually quite modest in my own clothing choices, but now and then I see something and I MUST HAVE IT.

Bluestocking · 15/09/2007 18:58

Which Ghost dress, IM? I have two pairs of Ghost trousers which would fall into the category of "eyewateringly expensive but really worth it" as I have worn them most weeks since I bought them, including through most of my pregnancy. I have had to replace the elastic in the waist as my giant mega-bump stretched it so much though.
Also Camper boots and Russell and Bromley boots and a Mulberry handbag, worth every penny.

Ugg boots-looks like wearing cornish pasties on your feet!

Flamesparrow · 15/09/2007 19:04

God I feel cheap - my most expensive was a £60 coat, closely followed by £55 bras.

If my boots hadn't been in a sale they would have been £160 - but they were and were about £40 by the time I got them

Dr Marten boots (not the bovver boy ones - the knee high zip up the back ones)

Worth every penny of the $300 I paid. I've worn them every day and they still look brand new.

A windproof coat - very handy in NZ and now 8 years old and still looking brand new. Again it was around $300.

lalaa · 15/09/2007 19:24

fenn wright manson cardigan that I wear alllll winter - long chunky knit in very dark green that doubles for a coat. have had it for 5 years. paid £125.

Blondilocks · 15/09/2007 23:16

Prada sunglasses, which were approx £250. They are soo much more comfortable than cheaper ones & have lasted for years.

inamuckingfuddle · 16/09/2007 11:32

Another vote for Camper shoes, the most comfortable footwear ever, also Duo boots as my calves are like tree trunks work suits from Jigsaw also well worth the money
