Thinking of dying my hair pink or rose gold...

Dickorydockwhatthe · 30/03/2020 23:27

but want a semi permanent one. I have blonde highlights but grey starting to come through, always fancied Rose gold and now would be the perfect time to do it 😬. Can anyone recommend one that will wash out after a few washes. Thank you

Anyone??

I know that superdrug have their own range of tints, all different colours. Not sure exactly what they have though. If it was me, I'd be careful with any rose gold ones, I can see very unfortunate oranging Grin

Imafarmerama · 31/03/2020 10:40

I recommend the shampoo by Bleach London as it’ll be quite subtle and it’ll wash out ( it does tend to wash out either very quickly or very slowly. Smile never lasts for the amount of washes it says it will )

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 10:41

Yes please go shopping for non essential items.

Now is not the time

MrsSnitchnose · 31/03/2020 10:45

@GreenTulips She can order online

goshdarnitjanet · 31/03/2020 10:48

Op - did you not realise you should only be asking what colour sackcloth will be in vogue this summer ffs

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 10:51

Look on Superdrug website and the vast majority are click and collect only, resulting in an unnecessary trip out.

TokyoSushi · 31/03/2020 10:54

I also had blonde hair and wanted rose gold highlights, I went ahead, I won't be doing it again!

Kuponut · 31/03/2020 10:54

I used to have mine rose gold and I used a schwartskopf (that is in no way spelt correctly) lightner and twist one which lifted my natural mouse colour and then the pink shade over the top made it rose gold which gradually faded as I washed it.

CloudyVanilla · 31/03/2020 10:54

I had to go to multiple super markets yesterday to try and find the formula my 9 week old baby needs and picked up some hair dye from the next aisle. It's really not a big deal to still want to take care of your appearance etc, give her a break. There is a difference between shopping FOR non essential items and picking up no essential items while doing regular shopping. It's not like you have to go anywhere special, supermarkets sell all this stuff.

Imafarmerama · 31/03/2020 10:56

@GreenTulips there are many other stores other than Superdrug that allow delivery. Why so Stasi? You don’t like people having small joys? She could get it as part of her shop - Sainsburys sell the stuff she needs anyway!

Please don’t assume she’s uneducated and has no common sense - it’s unfair

CloudyVanilla · 31/03/2020 10:56

As in you don't even have to go to a drug store you can literally grab it from Tesco

Hollylolly28 · 31/03/2020 10:59

The loreal colourista pink one is nice I have bleached hair and used it it washed out really well

Imafarmerama · 31/03/2020 11:03

Oh yes the colourista one is really good! Worked nicely on my highlights. Sure it’s in Sainsbury’s too

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 13:49

I disagree

DD works in Superdrug and there are loads of people ‘just popping in’ for hair dye and no essentials.

No screens or hand sanitizer either

So please don’t suggest popping anywhere unless absolutely necessary

GreenTulips · 31/03/2020 13:50

Oh and for the record, while you enjoy your small ‘joys’ my DD may well end up dead.

That ‘why so Stasi’ is my new favourite comment.

JingleCatJingle · 31/03/2020 14:26

@GreenTulips if SuperDrug is not providing an essential service then it should be closed. The OP is not making your DD work.

Terralee · 31/03/2020 14:37

Well I went to Boots for my essential prescriptions yesterday & picked up some face cream too while I was there. Why not? They need to make money.

Boots still deliver OP so you could get a hair dye from Boots.
I had to order my shampoo & conditioner together with (before anyone moans at me) the only non scented sanitary towels I could get which boots sell but aren't in store. The delivery took a week & came today.

goshdarnitjanet · 31/03/2020 14:49

I find using washing up liquid and cutting up an old towel into rags is working fine - maybe you could consider that next time?

Dickorydockwhatthe · 31/03/2020 15:13

I have a online delivery coming and also have to pick up a prescriptions at some point for parents so whilst there I was going to pick up a bottle of dye if available I'm going out my way to buy hair dye.I am not making unessesary visits to the super market for vanity or any other selfish reasons apart from food for myself or others in need. My grey is coming through, and I actually cancelled my hair appointments and eyebrows prior to lockdown due to the risks. I've plucked my own eyebrows which hasn't turned out too bad 😬 but wanted to hide my grey, always fancied Rose gold but never been brave enough if its in the supermarket when shopping or online then surely I can add it to my order??

OP posts:
goshdarnitjanet · 31/03/2020 15:18

@Dickorydockwhatthe - you really don't have to justify yourself to anyone on here - if its available when you get your shopping then fill your boots. Its a shit time and there's no need for anyone to make you feel shitter for asking a simple question.

Dickorydockwhatthe · 31/03/2020 15:21

Thanks everyone for your helpful advice. And sorry Tulips your daughter has to work and I imagine that's quite scarey but please not not pre judge me. I have no plans to go shopping purely for hair dye and put myself, family or others at risk. I'm staying home as much as possible. However yes I am guilty of adding non essential items to my normal shop because at rhw end of the day the shops have allowed to them to be available.

Thank you Gosh, and yes you are right I just hate being judged by people who do not know me.
