I miss getting “dressed”

Obvs I’m still getting dressed but I’m not wearing my proper work clothes at home because I don’t need to and also I don’t want them to get too grubby when I’m on kid duty. But I miss thinking about what to wear and putting a nice outfit together. First world problems, I know, but in the same way a nice coffee was a treat, I enjoyed sorting out my clothes.

Anyone else?

I've been alternating between my hush hareem and combats but actually felt better on one day when I did where jeans and a nicer top think I'll try to do that more often. We're on day 9 of 14 days in isolation so I can't even put my nose out of the door.

Molto, they are from Amazon. Iuga leggings. I'm a 12-14 and large are perfect on me.

I got the Darcie joggers from All Saints - can't face buying 'nice' clothes but I already have one of their leather jackets which I love.

I haven’t been wearing full on work clothes but I have dressed nicely and have worn some of my new soft flats (I bought myself a yellow and a tan pair for spring). The only thing I couldn’t be bothered with is the makeup. I put jewellery and perfume as I would normally.

I work half days every day so I change into jeans and jumper when I take over looking after the kids.
It makes me happy and focussed.

Oh I’m still getting ready every day! I’ve not worn loungewear since isolation started & I've made a point of wearing something colourful. I’m still logging everything on Stylebook. I have lots of beautiful Spring clothes - I intend on wearing them!!

I've just ordered two t-shirts and a leopard print unlined edge to edge coat from the Zara reductions. I will wear them when I am going out for my walk/essentials shopping.

I am justifying it by saying I'm keeping the economy going.

And they are classic enough not to date and still wear when all this dreadful business is over.

Thanks for the jogger info Flowers

There's a Twitter #formalfridays - people are dressing up in their fanciest clothes to work from home / do chores / whatever on a Friday then posting pictures. Think conference calls in ball gowns and tiaras whilst doing laundry.

Ginfordinner · 29/03/2020 22:21

I'm missing dressing up for work as well. It is cold where I am so we are all in winter clothes still.

Re summer clothes. I have loads of summer dresses that last year after year as they don't get worn very often, so I have no need to buy anything new.

I’m planning on getting out my whacky shoe collection and wearing lots of heels
My working from home desk is metres from kitchen and cloakroom so no problems!

JaceLancs · 29/03/2020 22:30

I’ve mainly been wearing jeans and cashmere it merino knitwear and cosy ugg boots but feel I need a dress and heels more often if this is carrying on

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/03/2020 23:07

iwould I did #dressupfriday on Instagram this week. I’m not a “smart” person, don’t even own heels, but I put on a midi dress, with a cardi and opaque tights, plus my DM monkey boots. (So the kind of thing I would wear to meet a friend for lunch.) I felt fancy when I went for my government sanctioned walk later on!

I'm 6 weeks into online learning at an international school- live teaching every block (Hong Kong)
Some days I'm in sweat pants, some days I dress up. I do like to put something nice on in the evenings now and then.
Do what makes you happiest! Good luck!

I’ve gone a bit luxe casual today and it feels nice. Hush joggers, cashmere jumper, ugg slippers. Haven’t put any makeup on though.
