No make up all week and now I have spots

I haven't had spots for years. I have dry skin so I use a lot of moisturiser.
I haven't worn any make up all week since we were advised to stay at home. I thought I would give my skin a breather while no one would see me in all my natural glory !!
but now the right side of my face around my mouth has broken out in spots.
Anyone have any idea why ?? Or what I can do about it ? ?
I'm perimenopausal and the last time I had a break out was about 8 years ago when I was under a lot of stress .
They aren't little pimples but are deep bumps under the skin. They aren't painful like blind bumps are but they are rough to the touch and I can't understand why they have just appeared - you would think giving my skin a break from make up would have the opposite effect.

Have you still been cleansing your skin properly?
I find that if I don't wear makeup I get lazy about my skin care.
It could just be nothing to do with not wearing makeup

I had an awful breakout when I stopped wearing make up for a few weeks (in between jobs).

However, as squishedgrapes points out, it was because I got super lazy about looking after my skin, stopped cleansing and moisturising and just went for washing my face in the shower and, boy, did it show....

Omg I think you are both right !
I have just been sloshing a flannel around my face in the shower.
Thankyou

Well in my case it is deffo due to lack of chips! My face has come out in sympathy as I can no longer go to the chip shop! I don't normally get spots.
