Dressing to show "good taste" in clothing

Hey hey hey Help nedeed! I am going to this fashion networking event with a friend from work in a couple of weeks and i've been trying to compose a good outfit in my head. I am thinking about something that would make me look expensive (not sure if that's a good word to use), stylish and elegant. in other words as "having a good taste". Any advice please???? thanks x

I always think skinny Jean's,plain white blouse or t-shirt tucked in blazer n heels looks smart and is a outfit that works just about everywhere x

Or jumpsuit and heels

As Ann87 says, the Emanuel Alt style of blazer, skinny jeans, Camisole or shirt, heels or ankle boots is a classic , expensive look!
Or a tailored suit in an interesting colour is on trend.
