I want some new trousers for the autumn - preferably in dark colour, low waist, bootcut or nicely wider at the bottoms - I am a size 12, usually have a regular leg length - I love the White Stuff Calamity Jane cords and have several pairs, some very worn out now - any suggestions ?

I couldn't let you bump this any more without responding, though I'm not very good at this malarky.
I got some like these last year and really like them.
Or there's these?? but maybe not dark enough, and not sure what sizes are available.
Then there's these, but they look a bit tight at the top, maybe?

God, I really am rubbish at this!

I have some brilliant bootleg cords from French Connection a few years ago, I wore them and wore them. Maybe they might have something similar?

MrsBadger · 06/09/2007 11:55

I have cords as you describe from Gap.
Fat Face?

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2007 12:33

thanks AuldAlliance ,Flower and MrsBadger - yes, these are all nice but similar to my beloved White Stuff cords - which are available in current season, but I was thinking of something else, not sure exactly ! I have some nice Monsoon linen trousers which have a good shape but obviously linen not so good for autumn/winter

I meant Flowerybeanbag - sorry

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 06/09/2007 12:45

Sorry, thought you meant you wanted similar to replace the worn out ones.
Trying again:
maybe frumpy?
Same goes for these?

AuldAlliance · 06/09/2007 12:49

Warmer variant of linen ones here maybe?
God knows what tricotine is, sounds addictive and possible cancer-causing.
Maybe not casual enough?

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2007 13:19

thanks AuldAlliance - the Laura Ashley ones are v nice - will check them out, though the wool ones are a bit above my trouser budget and are dry clean only - thanks for all your good research !

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 06/09/2007 14:21

If you do check them out, will you let me know what they're like?
I quite fancy them, although L. Ashley don't deliver here.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2007 16:51

will look in Laura Ashley next time I'm in Winchester ( is only branch nr me) ! are you in Scotland ?

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 06/09/2007 18:20

Nope, France. They don't seem v keen on deliveries outside the UK.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/09/2007 18:43

that's pesky - will report back anyhow !

AuldAlliance · 07/09/2007 21:50

Psst!
15% off the trousers I linked to, according to an Autumn Offers e-mail I just got from L. Ashley...

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/09/2007 11:27

thanks auldalliance - have just found some nice looking trousers in the new White Stuff catalogue - will try to do a link for you... trouble is they tend to make them long, even if you get regular length - my legs aren't that short, but they usually scuff around on the ground.

Ooh, they're nice (odd name, though...!). Thanks for that.
Loads of trousers seem to be made really long these days, I usually have to get them taken up.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/09/2007 12:12

I might even order them (in pepper) -take a chance - sometimes they don't have the same stuff in the shops as in the catalogue/online...

£8 delivery charge for Europe...

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/09/2007 17:01

that's not fair...

Anyway, they're nicely finished with soft fabric etc. thanks for your advice !
