Need some shoes that I can wear with wide leg crops, shirt etc for work. Maybe weekend wear also

Are these way off point

Can you link @wehaveafloater ?

blueshoes · 27/02/2020 22:50

What sort of job do you do? Not my idea of workwear.

LamingtonBear · 28/02/2020 08:39

@lotsofthingstolearn

I find them a bit fussy. I prefer these

fishonabicycle · 28/02/2020 08:48

They are great! I am going to try them on when I see them! Not frumpy at all.

BubblesBuddy · 28/02/2020 09:15

You could wear those trousers if you are tall and slim. They don’t suit shorter or wider people. They are fashionable at the moment but only on some people. I do agree that cigarette pants are the safe choice. But go for the trousers if you suit that look.

lotsofthingstolearn · 28/02/2020 10:17

I'm certainly not thin thus today I'm looking for cigarette trousers!

Love Mumsnet wisdom thanks and thanks for the reassurance. I've ordered them- let's see what they're like!

I wear wide legs and I'm short. And I look fucking awesome. The hell with anyone telling you what you can and can't wear.

BubblesBuddy · 28/02/2020 11:21

Good God! It’s just an opinion! I’ve seen a lot of the wider leg cut offs on tall people. I think height is an advantage but whatever floats your boat really!

NarniaBanarnia · 28/02/2020 11:32

Lone voice saying I don't like them but I'm in a HUGE minority OP :)

I'm insanely fussy about shoes so probably best to just ignore me.

Buy them, wear them, enjoy them.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/02/2020 17:34

I'm a short arse and wore some wide legged cropped black trousers a lot this year. I think the seam don't the centre of the M&S trousers makes them look a bit 'off'. Mine are from next and are just jersey. I like them, even though I'm short and not as thin as I once was. I don't think I scared small children in them.

Ultimately, people in real life will care far little than the people of MN seem to do about what somebody is wearing. Try them, OP. Cigarette trousers might also look fine, but would have a very different vibe.

noodlezoodle · 28/02/2020 17:44

OP, you've just cost me 75 quid Grin

I have these wide-leg trousers from M&S and they are great if you don't mind a high waist: www.marksandspencer.com/high-waist-wide-leg-trousers/p/clp60274484?color=BLACK

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/02/2020 17:59

Out of stock in nearly every size. I like those - will try to find them in store.

EL8888 · 28/02/2020 18:04

They are a yes from me

MadamShazam · 04/03/2020 17:42

I really like them, and now want to buy them myself!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 04/03/2020 18:49

If you want some well made, gold coloured trainers look at Fitflop, the comfiest trainers ever!

Palaver1 · 04/03/2020 20:02

I saw these on some one Saturday and they looked really nice .
I would wait for the sales they are over priced.
The trousers I dont like at all.

FuckingHateRats · 04/03/2020 20:39

Really like them!

angelfacecuti75 · 04/03/2020 22:29

I really like them . Go for it !

Forgottenwhatsleepis · 04/03/2020 22:38

I love the shoes, I'm not personally keen on the trousers but obviously don't know you so can't comment on whether they'd suit you or not! I do however like the second M&S ones that @noodlezoodle suggested

YewandOak · 04/03/2020 22:46

Not frumpy at all, they look like the sort of things my younger workmate would wear(late 20s)
Not my thing, they're too ''young looking'' for me.

Floisme · 05/03/2020 07:56

Well those cropped trousers are a disappointment, I was expecting something really wild. I know we don't all like the same things but I don't get the strong reactions.
I'm 5'3 and my legs look shorter in narrow trousers. A wider cut bypasses my thighs and, if high waisted, make my legs look longer too.

I prefer silver to gold metallics but otherwise I like the shoes, in fact I'm very drawn to the white ones.

Fairylea · 05/03/2020 07:59

I don’t like them but I’m in the minority! Not a fan of metallics.
