here

looks horrible in this picture i didnt even notice it yesterday but it looked fab in the shop and even better on. Its quite short but not so short that it looks like a top.

The ASOS ones were horrible, really short, bad material, far too teeny-boppery

So whats the verdict, to go with silver shoes

themoon, if you rollover it is v sparkly

mosschops30 · 05/09/2007 14:07

I'm having a girlie weekend away in Newcastle and looking for a killer dress to go out in.

NP that blue one was horrific, the shape was dreadful and shouldve been a top. The necklace was tiny (it looked big and chunky in the pic didnt it) so that went back too.

Have seen some nice jewellry to go with this but will buy last minute when we get there, gives me a chance to look round the shops too

mosschops30 · 05/09/2007 14:08

dont why it says foil, the material is actually quite nice, foil makes it sound horrible
its very sparkly just nice for a night out. Dont know what dh will say he'll probably hate it

you cant go wrong with warehouse - have you tried it on? Wallis has fab jewellery if you are still looking

Baffy · 05/09/2007 14:08

Really nice

mosschops30 · 05/09/2007 14:11

yes I tried instore today, it looked nothing off but even ds (2.8) said 'ooh nice mummy' when i tried it on
will have a look in Wallis, theyre bound to have one in Eldon Square I would think.

Why black shoes lisalisa? I thought silver would bring out the sparkly party look in me

It's lovely!

I'd wear it.

When's your night out in Newcastle? Where will you be going? (Nosey as I live in Newcastle)

ForgetfulFaerie · 05/09/2007 17:25

Tights?

Spray tan surely!!

mosschops30 · 05/09/2007 17:38

lisalisa, its not flared or swingy (are you looking at same dress . Its fitted at the bottom kind of like a jumper dress, but going out material obviously. Wont be wearing tights, I start my 3 day tan routine tonight

Ladidadi, where abouts I used to live in Heaton, then Lemington. I miss it soo much. We will spend the day in the Waterline probably then get changed, have a nice meal in La Tasca then do the quayside, definately do the Lodge (my fave for the cheesy music alone). Have heard Buffalo Joes is worth a go but we were gonna do the Tuxedo just for novelty value (havent been since I was about 16).
Any recommendations?

princessmel · 05/09/2007 17:39

Lovely. I like it.

LaDiDaDi · 05/09/2007 20:58

I live in High Heaton now.

Tuxedo is going to be moved soon as Gateshead council think it doesn't fit in with the rest of the quayside.

I'm going out with mates on Sat night, 30th bday of friend, and we are going to The Vineyard, poss the Lodge, The Apartment and Revolution the Tiger Tiger. Basically we will walk then wobble from The Lodge up toward The Gate.

The quayside in general is much quieter than it was though a few weeks ago it was heaving with stag and hen does. Saw Top Gun lot, army lot, navy lot, kilts, Superheroes and that was just the men who were dressed up!

quint · 05/09/2007 21:01

I agree with the black shoes, dress it up with jewellry and bag, don;t think silver shoes will look as nice. Fab dress by the way

Have a good night whatever you decide

mosschops30 · 06/09/2007 12:20

Ladidadi what it the gate? Is that where the Mayfair used to be? Is it worth a visit. Have heard about Apartment before, where is it in relation to the lodge?

Lol at Tuxedo being removed that thing shouldve been removed years ago, it was rough when i lived there

bigspender30 · 06/09/2007 14:35

does it still have the revolving dance floor? That brings back memories!

LaDiDaDi · 06/09/2007 19:53

I believe that it's still got a revolving dance floor but I haven't been in years and years.

Ok, The Apartment is on Collingwood Street. Imagine that you are coming down Grey Street and you come to the crossroads with The Lodge on your right. If you turn right and keep walking towards the station, past the bottom of the Bigg Market then you will come to The Apartment on your right.

Another nice bar is The Living Room. That is on Grey St, just up from the niche hotel place that is on the corner diagonally opposite The Lodge.

The Gate is a bit like a shopping centre but with bars, restaurants, a cinema and a casino instead of shops! Very "mall-like" in feel iyswim. Great if the weather's crap though bars wise it's a bit hit and miss. Tiger Tiger is just next to The Gate and is generally good, free entry before 10pm £7ish afterwards.

mosschops30 · 07/09/2007 15:07

I think i know where you mean, will try apartment definately. I think the Gate may be a walk too far in killer heels . Is Tiger Tiger a good place to end up for the night? Just asking cos I hate Tiger Tiger in Cardiff, its full of people just trying to look good and no-one actually has any fun.

Last time we went we ended up in 'for your eyes only' with a stag party ....say no more

LaDiDaDi · 07/09/2007 19:58

We will end up in TT without a doubt as it is bday friend's fave place. TBH it's ages since we've been to any other club to compare but I think that some bits of it have a high poseur contingent but other areas are fine with good cheesy tunes.

World Headquarters is also good if you are a bit more into music. Less posey/dressy probably.

Blu Bambu in the Bigg Market is also ok.

Is it this weekend?
