If you're not young and skinny anymore, where do you buy your occasion wear dresses?

I'm a wobbly size 12/14 and look lumpy in anything tight, but the shape of a wiggle dress suits me better than something with a defined waist. I need a dress to wear for a wedding and I'm really struggling. I feel fat and horrible in everything!

I work in a women's fashion shop and there are loads of dresses to suit everyone .. so are you more Apple than hourglass ? I'm the same size but hourglass and dresses really flatter me .

I'm never really sure because I feel like I have the worst of both! I'm probably more of an hourglass as I've always been curvy but I have that roll of fat under my boobs as well as regular tummy fat. But naturally quite a long, narrow back. But I also have lumpy hips and bum!

How does Silk Fred sizing come up, if you're between sizes?

I am a 12-14 apple and I have bought my occasion wear from whistles recently, mostly skins over my stomach. I don’t think they model it well on the website so if you can go to a store it is worth a look. I have to size down to a 12 as they are generously cut.

I got a beautiful dress from whistles that looked awful online. It was really flattering.
