make up advice sought!

can anyone recommend what might suit someone like me - lip colours, eyeshadow etc and where to go for inspiration?

brown eyes if that helps. im in a rut of taupe eyeshadow and mac twig lip stick.

anyone else with similar colouring or anyone else with ideas?

i could go to a make up counter but am not able to spend a lot.
