I was bridesmaid in July at 18wks, other bridesmaid was 23wks, so both quite a bit behind you. We had hideous experience, bride had clearly already decided on dress (from bridal shop), it was completely unsuitable, strapless with loads of ruched chiffon over the boobs, in the pictures we look like we are wearing fat suits. Cost a fortune and to deal with our pregnancies they simply ordered bigger sizes and then charged an additional fortune to alter them, which was done extraordinarily shoddily.

My advice would be to be adamant about having a proper maternity dress, don't whatever you do agree to strapless, talk to your sister about what you are realistically likely to look like and make sure that she isn't so enraptured with an image in her head that she ignores the reality of your pregnancy! We were both far too afraid of the bride's wrath to put our feet down and since the wedding she has said that she thinks the dresses were a mistake and wishes she'd got a maternity style instead!

I got married when 7 months pregnant. I wore a dress from ghost.

if it is only you and you don't need to match a non-pg bridesmaid, just get a gorgeous maternity dress (can suggest suppliers if you like)

if there are other bridesmaids ask her to just pick a colour or general style for all the dresses (eg long and red, or pink chiffon, or something) and we'll help you find a mat dress that fits the brief.

if she is dead set on exactly matching trad bm dresses check out these people, or go to a dressmaker

just found a website that hires maternity dresses so have let my sister know!

Yes. I looked erm..well you know the elephants dancing in tutus in Fantasia?

We ordered fabric from the shop that supplied the bridesmaid dresses so it was an exact mtach, then had long skirt/flowy top combo made in the fabric. It was NOT my most glamorous moment. But you will look lovely, I am sure.
