Please can you find me a denim dress like this one? But not this one!

I ordered this denim dress, part of the appeal was the waist detailing as I am a textbook hourglass so dresses for me need to emphasise my waist.

free people denim dress

The dress was lovely, well made and good design but the waist wasn't actually shaped. When I tried it on I looked like a denim sausage.

This week I was idling on my phone during my lunch hour and an advertisement popped up for a similar style dress with popper/button belt detailing at the waist. The advert was probably on Instagram. Trouble is that I can't find the advert anywhere since I saw it.

Can you help me find a denim dress in a similar style to this? It must have sleeves (short or long) and be mini or knee length. From memory the dress in advert was a darker wash/colour than this one.,

I Wear mine with sleeves turned up, tights and boots

And I'm an hourglass shape but widening with the peri menopause

Thank you, for your suggestions, I already own a denim shirt dress with a tie belt. It's lovely.

I like the shape of the Boohoo dress but I prefer darker blue denim.

The Free People one is fitted with a cinched in waist or so I thought, which particularly appealed to me.

I bought this yesterday. Picked it up, didn't have time to try it on, thought it was denim... It is made of clouds. So comfortable. Not strictly denim but denim look. It is beautiful on.

Otherwise, Primark and Tesco have similar to the Asda one above, only problem is they all have lots of buttons. I personally can't do dresses which are all button. End up wearing one as a shirt.

rosere I like that for work. Can I ask your height and the length on you? I am getting a bit sick of midi length and wonder if regular might be knee length on me (I am tall)

warehouse but different style
RI but a bit bling

I've got this one from Very. It's so flattering for an hour glass figure, they have a similar one in dark blue too

@lucked I am 5ft 7 and its below knee. A bit longer than on the model, but hits my calf at the right spot. The slits are very flattering too. It's absolutely beautiful on and so soft.

There's an advert for Noom with a girl wearing a similar dress. That might help you find the ad but may be no help with the dress!

SpaBreakFugitive · 29/01/2020 22:12

Didn't even know what Noom was.

It's the belt that isn't a full belt that I liked on the FreePeople dress.
I've got a stack of full belted shirt dresses, they are lovely and they suit me but I don't want anymore!

That dress is lovely Rosere but would be too long on me .

There’s a few in sosander
[https://www.sosandar.com/clothing/denim]]

BigFatBloomers · 29/01/2020 23:49

Zalando
Topshop

SpaBreakFugitive · 30/01/2020 09:56

Thank you Sadteacher1 I like both of them but they are very...zippy Grin

Strictlybakeoff I like Sosandar and I'd looked there already but they tend to be longer so a knee length is more midi on me.

BigFatBloomers the Zalando one is paler than I would like and a bit baggy. I do like the TopShop dress but they have another one that I prefer, it's my second favourite and I will probably order it if I can't find the one I saw the advert for the other day. TopShop dress I know that it's very zippy - which is the bit that I don't like but it's the waist on that one I particularly like.
