i have just had my hair cut to shoulder lenght after years of it being longer, and im going out next friday with a load of girls and want my hair to look really lovely! i was initially thinking of straightening it, which i have never done, then thought about curling it with one of those tong things. i looked in the argos book to see what type of thing as available, but the chioce is so confusing.
i would like it to look like maria off corrie, not all curls, just a few here and there. do i get a straight tong, or one with the grooves in, or one of those scary looking diffuser things. any advice would be very helpful, thanks. but i am going to bed in a min, so may not reply till tomorrow.

I've no idea what this person looks like but for a diffuser to work you need to have at least a bit of natural wave to your hair. If you do then that would be the quickest way of getting results. Tongs would take longer and would give you more regular shaped curls compared to a diffuser which would give you a more mixed look.
