Indian wedding

I’ve been invited to the evening do of an Indian wedding. Super excited. The venue is a very classy hotel, and it’s in April. I’m looking for advice on what to wear! I asked Dh to ask what the dress code is (the groom is his friend; I’ve only met him once and have never met the bride), and the response was ‘glam’. A quick google has informed me to avoid black, white and red, and that bright colours are preferable.

Any other tips? I don’t have anything appropriate in my wardrobe as I usually wear muted colours, and I don’t generally go to glamorous functions these days. I’ve got a fabulous bright green ball dress, but suspect that would be overkill...

I don’t really know where to start.

Thank you again! Clearly bangles are the way to go.

As everyone else says, the dress is perfect (and gorgeous!) and I agree with glamming it's up with lots of gold bracelets, big earrings, hair up, gold high heels and gold clutch. You'll have a ball!

Bangles and lots of jewelery. Indians weddings are very glam.

Heron yes! I’ve previously been told on here that something I liked was gopping! Grin

That dress is beautiful. You can even go extra glam if you want with a fake fur jacket/ coat and lots of jewellery.
Indian and Nigerian weddings are very beautiful and glamorous

I agree, it's ideal (and I have been to lots of Indian weddings! Grin).

Bling it up a bit with lots of gold accessories and you'll blend right in.

That’s a perfect dress. With Indian weddings it’s go big or go home Grin. Also to add more bling and glam makeup wise focus on your eyes, lots of eyeliner and sparkly eyeshadow. Have fun!
