Do you buy your shoes in children's sizes?

Looking to buy a pair of Timberland boots. The original ones are £180 for a ladies size 5 but about half that in the kids' version.

Kids' versions go up to size 5.So I could fit my foot into the kids' version.

Anyone do that? Do you notice a difference from the ladies' version?

Obviously I'm heavier than a child would be but not sure up to what weight a child's size 5 would be designed to support. And I guess it might be a bit wider if it's a unisex shoe.

I buy kids’ trainers, mainly Stan Smiths, and they are no different to the adult versions at all, other than so much cheaper! I’m a size 4. In boots maybe the ankle/leg bit would be shorter or narrower?

Yes, sometimes. They are VAT free so are cheaper.
The only pair I bought that was significantly different from the adult version was a pair of Doc Martens and the toes were much more rounded. I hardly wore them in the end as I figured my feet looked like a clown’s.

Yep, I'm.a 4 and often do. Never noticed a difference other than to my bank balance

Yes I'm a size 3.

My size 6 DD bought Timberlands from the kid's range - they've been fine for her, very comfy and we were thrilled to save ££.

No chance, I’m a size 9!

Actually that’s not entirely true. I had some boys’ brogues once, but they were far to manly for me to wear much in the end.
