Why is it so hard to find an a line dress made of mostly natural fibres, with pockets and no crazy pattern?

It's not much to ask really? I quite like Fatface Simone dresses, but I wish that they would make more in plain colours. They did some last year in linen, but they crease like hell.

Hmmph

COS?

SlowSigh · 11/01/2020 12:55

Might have a look back at Cos in the summer. I like their shapes, but a lot of their dresses are wool.

I am just so hot all the time since meno.

I recently bought this www.johnlewis.com/phase-eight-enola-belted-flared-dress/p4417186 in the navy.
The fabric is quite thick and heavy, but it's very comfortable.
I'm 5'7" (and long-bodied with short legs) and it hits just at the bottom of the knee on me.

SlowSigh · 11/01/2020 13:11

That's nice, could it be worn without the belt?

Boden Bronte dress..? Not too A line but meets ask the other criteria. I have 2 and they are very wearable for most things: www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/bronte-ottoman-dress-forest/sty-j0235-pgr

SlowSigh · 11/01/2020 13:19

Haven't looked at Boden for ages. That dress is more fitted than I would like, but might be worth a try, as the reviews are saying it comes up big.

How about this one? www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/clothing/dresses-tunics/heartfelt-dress-beech.htm

SlowSigh · 11/01/2020 13:25

I did look at that seasalt one, however I ordered a wool dress from them before and it was so itchy.

@SlowSigh Yes. The belt loops are a bit high for my long torso, so I removed them.
Depending on what I wear it with, I either add a leather belt or no belt and it looks and feels great.

fadingfast · 11/01/2020 14:21

I've got two of the Boden Bronte dresses. Very comfortable and not particularly fItted (although I suspect I could have sized down).

Knittingnanny · 11/01/2020 14:23

If you have a local dressmaker ask her to make a pattern to fit your shape, then choose some fabric. If she makes you a couple or more using the same pattern it will probably be cheaper than buying from a shop plus they will fit you exactly.

Thought clothing? www.wearethought.com/women/organic-cotton-dresses/pocket-dresses

ScrambledSmegs · 11/01/2020 14:32

I've never bought from there btw, but it was a promising hit on google.
