Would anyone care to help me out of my style rut?

I am 5'4, apple and carrying a little more weight than I would like. I have got into the habit of wearing loose, unflattering dresses and tights with flat boring shoes. I never bother with make up or accessories.

I just feel that I want to make a bit more of an effort with my appearance.

I never wear trousers as I can't seem to find a pair that are comfortable around my waist.

I have lots of skin care products, but the idea of a routine seems a little daunting.

On the plus side I do drink plenty of water, and eat well only a little too much.

Not sure what I need, but help please?

Get a haircut , and maintain it.
Get a manicure . Experiment with a little make up.
Take everything out of your wardrobe. Is it all in good condition ?If not fix it , or throw it.
Any items you don't wear / like ? Send to a charity shop.
Do the same to your shoes. Only wear good quality , non tatty shoes. Nothing wrong in flats , but he open to trying on a slightly higher heal .
Could you jazz up your loose fitting dresses by wearing a pair of coloured tights ? Experiment with that.
Start looking at women and see the styles that they wear and you admire . If you think it could flatter your shape , go shopping and try those styles on . Push yourself out of your comfort zone . Start with a few things and build on that.

Don't necessarily have to make big changes. Get some smart boots or nice heels and some good accessories - statement necklaces or scarves.

Tailored jackets with looser tees underneath and a statement scarf is always a good look. Smile

Some good points, thank you.

Yes, definitely need to focus on grooming. I think that I struggle to switch between work and play, so it's easier just to pull on a dress and wear the same shoes all the time.
