All I want is a glowy natural look.
Any recommendations please

I swapped from Bourjois Healthy mix to IT cosmetics cc cream. Your skin but better is so true, I prefer it to the healthy mix and spf 50

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/01/2020 09:25

TheBitterBoy what shade were you in Healthy Mix and what do you use in IT,I'm tempted!

dramaqueen · 04/01/2020 09:31

I’ve been through the same list as @TheCanterburyWhales and would agree that the two cheaper ones listed are the best. I’ve also been using Fenty’s Pro Filter Hydrating Longwear foundation and it seems to be the one I reach for in the mornings.

I have a draw full of discarded ones, which I think I’m going to chuck out.

TheCanterburyWhales · 04/01/2020 09:53

I'll add Nars Sheer Glow (which is anything but on my skin- really weird consistency) and Dior Fusion to my list of Not-Holy-grails!

Drama- I have the same drawer- I might flog them as a job lot on ebay! I must have about 10 half used bottles. I fall for the ads every time!

pontiouspilates · 04/01/2020 10:07

I'm currently working through a sample of Bobbi Brown's Serum Foundation. It's lovely and dewy, but at £48 per bottle, I'm definitely keen on a cheaper alternative!

Sarcelle · 04/01/2020 10:10

For those Bourjois Healthy Mix fans, Sali Hughes mentions in her column today, that Mac Face and Body is the nearest equivalent she has found. Never used either so can't comment but for those who are starting the journey on a replacement for when HM runs out, perhaps that is worth an investigation.

supadupapupascupa · 04/01/2020 10:50

I wear EL double wear lite. And a tiny bit of powder because it's too shiny for me in places.

ScrambledSmegs · 04/01/2020 10:50

I've had the Mac Face and Body in my discarded drawer for ages. It's an odd one - I have to apply it very quickly because it's very thin and it sets. I can see why MUAs love it, because you can layer it but I just don't think I'm good enough at application to do it justice.

Boots hydra luminous in calico for me.

SorrelForbes · 04/01/2020 12:08

I love the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC cream. I wear the Fair Light shade (Light in the summer) and I'm Fresco in Estee Lauder (if it helps!)

Ofitck · 04/01/2020 12:16

Armani luminous silk

My friends paid for a vogue MUA for my wedding day and she used this and I've used it ever since. Amazing, expensive but does last a while.

thesunwillout · 04/01/2020 12:30

@Bloodycats

Try Beauty Expert for healthy mix serum. I'm 55 dark beige.
Also sadly Bourgois is being totally discontinued in the UK according to dd after helping me search today.
Arghhhh!!

ooooohbetty · 04/01/2020 12:30

I have the problem of being old but my skin is still quite oily so foundation doesn't last long on unless I use something like Estée Lauder doublewear I do need something that's not as Matt. I got a great sample from Chanel that had a lovely glow to it but didn't have the staying power.

I'm Fresco too, that's very helpful, thank you!

Beautifullymixed · 04/01/2020 15:15

Another massive fan of no7 hydraluminous.
I'm oily, yet dehydrated. Matte foundations make my skin dry, lined and tight and inflame my rosacea - so it's a battle to hydrate - but not clog pores and make me break out. Also, not to cling to dry, flaky areas.
Whew!
A tall order.

Hydraluminous, L'oreal pro-glo and Maybelline fit me dewy and smooth are brilliant for my requirements.
Also, Revolution stick foundation, Maybelline Superstay stick foundation and CYO lifeproof too.

At 47, I want a skin like finish, but good coverage too. Especially to be able to build it up on red areas without caking.
I don't want a foundation to dry out my skin, but also not turn me into an oil slick.

If I'm extra hydrated I apply grapeseed, squalene, rose hip oil or Weleda skinfood under for the most glowiest glow ever.
If i want more long lasting, i use Rimmel fix and protect primer or Maybelline baby skin pore eraser.

These foundations are brilliant and such good value.
Why pay more?

Mum2b2020 · 04/01/2020 15:19

No7 perfect and protect makes my face dewy. I wasnt expecting to like it but I'm on my 2nd bottle.

Beautifullymixed · 04/01/2020 15:38

This is my skin at the end of the day with no7 hydraluminous. I had blotted and dusted a touch of powder at lunchtime.
This is after about 10 hours of wear.
The coverage is still there, and I'm quite shiny - but not in an oil slick way.
I do set with powder in the morning though.
The look is far more flattering on my 47 year old skin I think.

Dewy foundation recommendations please
Sarcelle · 04/01/2020 16:29

@Beautifullymixed what is that lipstick, love it.

Your skin looks great.

Beautifullymixed · 04/01/2020 16:41

I think it's this one, very sheered out.
The shade is oatmeal raisin and it's very hydrating.
I collect lip colours - but rarely wear them!
I only tried it on for the picture - otherwise I look washed out Smile

Dewy foundation recommendations please

I like Giorgio Armani luminous silk and No 7 hydraluminous. Also love that lip colour and have added to my 'to buy' list!

Musmerian · 04/01/2020 18:19

@Housewife2010 - my beloved Bobbi Brown extra tinted moisturiser balm has been discontinued so I’ve just ordered this without a sample. I really hope it works.

Musmerian · 04/01/2020 18:23

@pontiouspilates - what’s it like? I’m trying to find a replacement for their extra tinted balm and the online chat recommended this. I need to get to the counter for a sample though.

Housewife2010 · 04/01/2020 18:31

Musmerian Let me know what you think. I received it in my Lumene Advent calendar and love it. It's been raved about in the beauty pages of Red Magazine a few times too.

elliemcx · 04/01/2020 18:35

Armani Luminous Silk is dewy and beautiful

Monetmoney · 04/01/2020 18:36

YAL Touché Eclat foundation, MAC face and body, Too Faced Born This Way Smile

JS06 · 04/01/2020 18:48

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser with their primer is my go to dewy make up. I find full foundation just looks flaky even on my regular and well behaved skin.
