Modern animal prints - what do you think of this dress?

I got this dress from Hobbs in the sale, but I am having second thoughts. It feels a bit... out there, and I am supposed to wear it at work. I am weary of classic animal prints, so perhaps struggling to feel comfortable with their modern interpretation. What do you think?
Also: is Hobbs good quality? I have never shopped from them before.

I don’t wear animal prints but I think I’d wear that dress. Smile

It looks like a good work dress. I have always been happy with the quality of Hobbs.

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/01/2020 18:53

I really don't like the colour but Hobbs is generally decent quality.

I really like this dress and would definitely wear it. I've always found Hobbs to be fairly good quality.

It is the colour rather than the print that I am not keen on.

Redcrayons · 02/01/2020 19:10

Me also on the colour. It’s taken me a long time to realize me and any shade of brown don’t get on.

In navy or grey it would look nice.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/01/2020 19:12

Dress is lovely and if I suited Brown it would be in my wardrobe

desperatehousewife2 · 02/01/2020 19:49

I really like that dress although don’t think the colour would suit me very much. Think it’s work appropriate though.

Miseryisabutterfly · 02/01/2020 20:29

I think it’s a gorgeous dress

Monipop84 · 02/01/2020 21:02

Thank you all for the advice. I do agree, it's a beautiful cut, the colour can be rather tricky to pull off. I am quite pale with blonde baylage, I don't think it would look bad, and brown is quite neutral for work I reckon. Still in two minds about it...Grin

A colleague of mine has this dress and it looks really good, she is Indian with dark colouring.

Monipop84 · 02/01/2020 22:25

@Firmlyrooted thanks for the info! Sadly very pale here :( This brown shade seems to be ubiquitous in the A/W 19 collections - there must be some fairer folk wearing it...

Hate the colours personally but wouldn't say it's 'out there'.

Miseryisabutterfly · 03/01/2020 01:01

I am pale and blonde op, I feel like the colouring would suit me so I’m sure it would work for you!

DramaAlpaca · 03/01/2020 01:04

I don't wear either animal print or brown so it's a no from me. I am also pale and blonde and am certain it wouldn't suit me, it's too dark.

Miseryisabutterfly · 03/01/2020 01:16

Funny how we differ! I suit dark colours. I’ve gold tones in my hair (natural blonde), maybe that’s the difference?

dudsville · 03/01/2020 05:22

Do you know what colours suit you? I think it's a great dress, the question is just whether it suits you.

Ninkanink · 03/01/2020 13:23

I’d wear it! But it suits my colouring (I’m fair but have warm skin).

If you love it, wear it!
