The trauma of trying to wear jeans as a longwaisted, short legged Apple

I think I might just be genetically indisposed to trousers. The only pair I've ever had which have suited me have been a ridiculously cheap pair of paper bag waist 7/8 trousers from Tesco, of all places.

I'm 5'3 and a fat-thin 8, and all my weight is carried on my thighs. I have a tiny waist and not much bust, my arse is alright but I have the thighs of an East German field athlete.

Oops, too soon.

Has anyone with a similar build managed to find flattering jeans? Usually the waist and bum sag horribly if I've managed to get them over my thighs.

I don’t think you are an apple if you have a tiny waist and your weight is on your thighs... maybe a pear or hourglass?

Have you tried high waisted slim cut jeans?

Ohyesiam · 30/12/2019 19:01

I can’t help with your question, but the definition of an Apple is no waist/thick waist/barrel waist.

LAubergeDuCulTourne · 30/12/2019 19:03

Hmmm. I had always thought I was an apple Shock

I think you might be right and I might be a pear.

I will try those next. Hope ASOS is bracing itself!

Yes, you are not an apple as we tend to have slim legs and carry all our weight on our stomach, you sound more Pear Shaped, you might be better trying something like girlfriend fit or gap do a curve range I think that is roomier around the hip thigh area.

You are a pear or hourglass for sure!

I have the same issues. Thighs that should probably be a 12 or 14, but a waist that is 8.

Stretchy jeans are your friend! I also prefer heavier weight jeans, though thinner jeans can be flattering. Always with back pockets (for the shape).

Jeans that work well for me are Levis (straight leg or slim fit, some of the skinny ones also have enough stretch to work). George at asda. I also have some f&f jeggings with pockets and buckles so they look more like jeans. Have you tried jeggings? They suck in at the waist, which is good!
