Is it possible to change the colour of leather? Have you painted it? If so, what with?

I have a leather handbag which I hate the colour of... wondered if it was possible to give it a new lease of life?

I've used Fiebing's leather dye on loads of leather items (bags, shoes) with great success.

Yes, you can dye it.

It's a penetrating dye so it stains the item and won't flake off but it does mean you need to dye the same tone or ideally darker to see a proper effect.

Leather dye.

Look up frenchic paint on Facebook. Lots of people used it for handbags and shoes (as well as furniture and front doors!).
