Ok its another one of these.

BUT.. its in a student union bar, I am 30+ and have no idea what to wear.

My usual advice is thinkabout what the staff would normaly wear and go a bit smarter.

What do staff in a student union wear, what are student union bars actually like, and how do I make sure I don't look like a frump that will never be able to relate to all the cool students

BTW I hate farking students , opps I can't say that now I am a student too.

smartish trousers and smartish shirt, nice sexy shoes I'd say. you don't want to look like whitney dressed as britney, and shoes can be expressive without being tarty or inappropriate (not six inch stillettos tho).

As it's bar work and at the student union I would think you'd get away with jeans coupled with a smartish top

The studes who walked pass our house into town at the end of term this year worn towels and flip flops?!?"?£?!?

And the weather has warmed up a bit today so never say die . . .

I will go for the smart trouser and smartish shirt, but I will give the sexy shoes a miss. I am going for a job standing behind a bar for 4 hours so doubt heels would impress.

Just wondered if jeans would be to casual, but smart black trousers too serious, I have tweedy trouser but fear I may end up looking frumpy, not trendy.

I would think jeans are a bit too casual for the actual interview even if people who work there do wear them. Black trousers and smartish shirt/top and funk it up with a necklace & ear-rings (not Pat Butcher!) Good luck with the students....

Good idea have a few necklaces I never wear, not too frumpy . I have been reliably informed students all drink pints so that should be easy enough.

Best thing is it is term time, finished at 3pm yeehaa, I am not going to leave until she gives me the job it is mine mine mine!!!
