Tall women? What shoes do you wear?

Instead of heels? On a night out when all of my shorter friends wear heels, I never know what shoes to wear. I need flats that still look dressy.
Can you recommend any?

To be honest nothing quite takes the place of heels, just love how they make me look that big slimmer in the leg...I quite like pointed toe flats, I think they're really pretty and usually very comfy despite the shape.

CMOTDibbler · 19/12/2019 19:52

I wear whatever I want tbh - if I was going out in warmer weather it would be platform wedges, in winter heeled boots. I'm never going to be 5'5 no matter what shoes I wear!

KondoKonvert · 19/12/2019 19:55

I like ASOS pointed flats. They have quite a few colours and the pointed toe makes them slightly dressier.

SylvanianFrenemies · 19/12/2019 19:57

I just wear heels. I like them. Why should I dress down because I'm a giant tall.

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 19/12/2019 20:02

Just wear heels. I'm a shorty, and prefer flats. Even if I wore heels I'd still be very short and talking to everyone else's boobs, so just glory in your height, and wear what you want - life is too short to wear shoes you don't want to be wearing

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 19/12/2019 20:05

I wear heels at 5ft 9 it would not even cross my mind not to wear them because my friends were shorter.

coffeeagogo · 19/12/2019 20:09

I’m 6’1 and wear heels when I’m getting dressed up - I’m never going to blend in so may as well suit myself 😂 when I’m stopping around day to day I wear flats though (boots or trainers)

Passthecake30 · 19/12/2019 20:45

I'm 6ft and tend to wear flats (strappy pointed ones or ballet shoes) as dp is 4" shorter than me. They don't look as nice as heels would.

RacheyCat · 19/12/2019 23:06

I do wear heels at 5'9 and I don't give a fuck about being tall, but if you do want flats, then I just bought a pair of over-the-knee boots in brown with a fur trim that have everyone drooling. I wear them over black skinny jeans. Would be nice for a night out.

Miseryisabutterfly · 19/12/2019 23:31

I’m only 5’8, so not especially tall but heels do have me towering above others. I like it 😂 I find they correct my posture and give me confidence.

slinkysaluki · 20/12/2019 05:36

Im 6ft and wear heels on nights out. Daytime i wear converse, stan smiths or low heeled boots. Those pointed flats make my feet look like canoes 🙁

Ozziewozzie · 20/12/2019 05:47

I’m 6ft and wear heals. I love my height. I don’t judge shorter people for their height. You could try kitten heels. They have an elegance to them but not much height at all.
I know it’s hard to find gorgeous shoes without massive heels on. Some flat shoes ie sandles etc are so rigid on the bottom, I end up walking like a penguin!!

JustaScratch · 20/12/2019 05:56

I'm 6ft and I wear heels regularly. I'm already really tall, I may as well just wear what I want! If I really don't want to wear heels I have some sparkly ballet flats

I’m 5’9 and wear heels. But generally I wear docs, converse, new balance and ankle boots with a slight heel.

Defenestratethecat · 20/12/2019 15:53

6'2" and can't walk in heels so usually wear boots , especially ankle boots with a slight heel (less than 2").

RainWoman19 · 20/12/2019 16:27

No heels for me at all, im 5'8, only because I find them unbearable after an hour or so! Dr Marten Jadon boots for me everytime. I find they go with my going out style perfectly.

Besidesthepoint · 20/12/2019 16:49

If you're tall, you're tall. The difference in heels is not that much length wise, it's mostly the change in posture that makes you look good.

TightPants · 20/12/2019 18:10

Thanks for this ladies, I’m 5ft 9 and am out with two much shorter friends at the weekend. I was stressing about footwear but now I’m going to wear heels.
Feck it, embrace the height!

SteelRiver · 20/12/2019 18:10

I'm taller than average and can't wear heels even if I wanted to, because of arthritis. For slightly more dressy occasions, I go for pointed toe or almond toe flats. I've just got a pair of Boden's Esme flats half price in the sale.

venezia222 · 20/12/2019 20:13

Trainers. I pretty much wear trainers with everything, I even have fancy rose gold Stan Smiths. I do also wear loafers and DMs too. For posh occasions I have some low heeled suede shoes with an ankle strap.

I’m 5 nine and like being tall but hate heels.

ShadowOnTheSun · 21/12/2019 16:45

5'11 and heels. 2'' or 5'', or in-between, depending on the mood and outfit. I tower over pretty much anybody in the room (including most of the men), but I don't care - I love my height.

GrinchmasCheer · 21/12/2019 20:11

All of my tall friends wear heels. They all own it and look bloody gorgeous! If you like heels then wear them!

emelsie · 21/12/2019 21:05

I normally go for something like that, only a 2.5 inch heel but I find the block heel style avoids me feeling too frumpy and dresses up an outfit nicely and they do plenty in that style on new look , next etc to suit your personal taste , if no heel at all then a nice pair of flat boots is always nice.

Tig33 · 22/12/2019 10:25

I find heels uncomfortable and I struggle to hear conversation with shorter friends when out so I mainly wear shiny brougues
