Can you help me find a lovely going out top?

DP’s only specific request for Christmas is a ‘going out top’. (She’s a woman, as am I. It’s not a bloke with a keen sense of glamour ).

I’ve looked in Cos, Hush, Jigsaw, Arket, Stories, Me + Em and I’m not finding anything amazing. Can anyone help? Anywhere I’m missing?

Her favourites are Cos and Margaret Howell (In the sale!). But she’d definitely be interested in something a bit more glam for a good going out top.

What's her style, what does she usually like to wear when she goes out, what kind of styles does she like on other people or in the shops?

What bra size does she wear? This is relevant because I have big boobs so I avoid high necklines (and very low ones).

For this time of year I would go for something with a bit of sparkle or sheen, or jewel colours, would she like something like that?

Lots of options here (too many!) - if it was for me I'd filter by sleeve and neckline, maybe colour too

There's some gorgeous going out tops at Peacocks. I got a gorgeous emerald green glittery going out top that has a choker detail and a v slit at front but not too much. It's stunning ❤️❤️

I struggle with going out tops but I’ve just bought a gorgeous patterned silky shirt top in Allsaints- turquoise-ish with a tie at the neck, bit pricier than I usually go for but felt really good wearing it on a night out.
Warehouse tends to work well for me, and sometimes Finery. A friend got a lovely striped going out top recently in Ted Baker.

@AnotherEmma When she goes out, she’ll wear something like a pair of Margaret Howell or Cos culottes and a polo neck with a bit of sparkle in it. (When I say ‘out’ I mean for dinner cos we’re both a bit ancient with two small kids so things like nightclubs aren’t part of our lives at the moment ). Her boobs are 32E, and she really goes in at the waist. I think she’s keen to show both of those things off after her weight loss!

Her fave ever going out top was an electric blue sort of crepe top from Cos, with a kind of twist and opening in the fabric at the neck (really hard to describe!).

I’d done that JL search and hadn’t found anything amazing sadly.

Perfect bra size too, not too big or too small!

I like this Hush top but it's loose fitting and won't show off her waist.

This Jigsaw top is a beautiful green but maybe a bit shapeless (might look nice on though).

Oh that’s very interesting Scarlett! I was thinking wrap round and got one in velvet from Boden but it’s horrible. I’ll definitely check this one out.

That Mint Velvet one looks really promising! I’d have to give the idea of the gusset quite a hard sell

Just popped back to attempt to attach a photo of the AllSaints one. The colour is a bit more vibrant in real life and it looks nice tucked in. I’m the same size on top.

Just an update - today I found the Ted Baker top @ScarlettDarling recommended and it’s great! I bought it in the spot (and it was half price, amazingly). I’d never have thought of TB, so it’s a real find.
