Best high street skinny jeans for my shape?

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 17/12/2019 20:27

Please help. I am desperate for some new jeans but am struggling to find any that look decent without being expensive.
I am a size 10 pear shape with a c section overhang. I look quite slim to the waist but jeans seem to make me look really frumpy from there down.
I heard good things about Sainsbury’s but theirs seem to have too much stretch to pull in and flatten the overhang. Asda’s sculpt ones are ok but fabric is too thin and they go saggy on the knees and bum.
I prefer dark denim and think that I need a highish waist but not too high as I have a short torso

Budget is up to £25. Any help would be wonderful.
Thanks

My daughter has a pair of high waisted skinny jeans from New Look that she is really pleased with. They are around the £25 Mark.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 18/12/2019 09:11

Thank you lexie. I will have a look. I haven’t been in new look for years.

I really struggle with jeans as well. I need a pair of normal waisted (high waisted look ridiculous as I’m too short), dark denim, high elastase content to stretch around my arse, but very skinny in the leg especially around the knee as I can’t bear baggy saggy knees!

It’s impossible! The minute I find a pair, they discontinue them!

Dogwalks2 · 18/12/2019 09:17

Asda have new improved skinny jeans in a much better denim than the wonder fit ones. £25.00.

lexiepuppy · 18/12/2019 09:21

Next has sculpting jeans, not sure of price, but I personally love and live in Levi’s skinny jeans. But you might be after a boyfriend or Mom style Jean .
You can always try on a style in a shop you like and then hunt it down on Depop or EBay for a cheaper price!

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 18/12/2019 09:22

I buy all my jeans from next. Find they fit well and last well! The pair I'm wearing at the moment are over 3 years old and were only something like £25.

UnaOfStormhold · 18/12/2019 09:24

Could the problem be that skinny jeans just aren't the shape for you? I find they make me look like my legs are parsnips, which is not a good look! What about trying some straight jeans? After trying loads of different brands I have gone back to M&S as they actually sit well on someone with hips and a waist.

mumdebump · 18/12/2019 09:24

M&S do a great high-waisted skinny jean called the Magic Sculpt. Holds everything in shape around my waist and arse but still really comfortable. Not expensive. About £20-£25.

AnotherEmma · 18/12/2019 09:35

Next. Possibly slightly more than £25 but not much more. They seem to fit curves well and they're decent quality.

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 18/12/2019 14:32

Thank you all. I hate shopping but going to have to bite the bullet and venture into town.
Skinny are definitely the best of a bad lot on me. I have quite skinny calves so slim look too baggy. Boyfriend and mum jeans just give me a saggy arse.
Thanks again for the recommendations. Smile

How about Top Shop? Their Leigh and Jamie skinnies are both very flattering. Worth trying definitely.

Catia79 · 18/12/2019 18:33

I have recently bought high waisted jeans in charcoal grey and brown from Pretty Little Thing xx

Moonmaker · 18/12/2019 18:38

Topshop Jamie cost more but they will make you feel like a million dollars and look brand new and stylish forever .

summershine2204 · 18/12/2019 18:42

I completely agree with @Moonmaker I love the TopShop Joni jeans. They're £40 though but I've picked them up for £20 on the sales.

Be ware though, the black fades after a few washes

bananallamas · 18/12/2019 19:06

Another vote for topshop. I'm a 10-12 pear shape with c section overhang too and the Joni, Jamie and Leigh styles all fit me well.

leeberry · 19/12/2019 15:45

Hello! I've found that with an overhang it always hurts when the Jeans button and zip dig in and leave marks... I usually go for jeggings. They look exactly like skinny Jeans but are more comfortable, stretchy and You can get them in all colours! Try select fashion website or new look. Peacocks is great too for cheaper but great quality!

ChickenyChick · 19/12/2019 15:50

The H&M Shape and lift ones are a bit more pricey but are comfy and flattering around the bum area (big pockets in the right place. So many brands get the pockets wrwong! Tiny pockets too high up makes bottoms look odd IMO Grin)

Igottastartthinkingbee · 19/12/2019 15:51

White Stuff Jeggings are fab, sale on at the moment.

gerbo · 19/12/2019 16:19

I wear Carrie skinny jeans from marks. Dark indigo colour, high waist which pulls tummy in and I'm your shape and size! Size 10, 5'4", slight pear, shorter legs.

They're £30, bargain and the dark indigo colour is lovely.

Only thing is they're in the shorter side and I like a longer leg. I have 10R so maybe try the 10R and L?

Notwiththeseknees · 19/12/2019 19:46

I was just going to suggest M&S. I picked up some not quite skinnys in a really nice indigo last week. I haven't tried them in yet, but they were a good weight & seemed better than my Jamies......

ineedto · 19/12/2019 19:49

You need the right Sainsbury's jeans. High waisted skinny and try downsizing.

Christmassoon · 21/12/2019 03:52

Marks and Spencer

SnowyUnicorns · 21/12/2019 15:30

Next Lift and Sculpt are fab. I'm a size 12 with a c-section over hang and these are the only jeans that don't sag down below the over hang. Think they cost about £45.

Branleuse · 21/12/2019 15:34

try marks and spencers. Im pear shaped, and their range of jeans at the moment are the best fitting on me ive ever tried.
I

Howzaboutye · 22/12/2019 23:13
