Having a Bollywood Bling Party next week and I'm wondering about those eyelashes with the sparkles etc on.
How difficult are they to put(and keep) on?
Do I wear mascara too? Before or after the falsies go on?

Heeellllpp! Out of my comfort zone!

I'm not going to tell you as i am sooo

Sugarfree, I am pining for you and your boys...everything back home seems so, erm normal..

satine · 24/08/2007 10:29

Ha ha ha!What a great evening out!
The falsies in a strip are a pain to put on convincingly. Much better are the clumps of two or three eyelashes that you put on individually. Shu Uemura do great ones (not sure if they do glittery ones, though) and so do Boots. Just use them on the outer quarter and they look fab. Mascara afterwards.

filthymindedvixen · 24/08/2007 10:34

oh look! rainbow glittery lashes

Ooh,thank goodness,girly-girls with advice!

Fmv,I know mate,I know.I wouldn't let Dh put the radio on coming home because I didn't want to be back in the real world. The sticker is still on the car and I am still wearing my wrist band. The henna tattoos are fading fast though.

I sneaked on to your fruit thread and snitched on you,but I think you missed it as there were no witty retorts!

I will email you once I get the Bollywood thing out of the way-I'm sewing til my eyes and fingers bleed here,MIL arrived yesterday and there is still alot of other party type stuff to sort out.

I have a couple of pics for you but I am keeping the dirty incriminating one of your body parts under wraps for now.LOL!

Love to your fellas! xx

Just bought some today from boots to wear tomorrow too. They are pre-glued (which is a relief)
Want to ask the same question as sugarfree- mascara? before or after hte falsies?

I would recommend mascara before or no mascara as they can get a bit clumpy. Also when you put mascara on they often come off on the wand IMO IYSWIM!!

NomDePlumeIsIrrationallyAngry · 31/08/2007 16:36

they never stay on.

BalletMum · 31/08/2007 16:40

The ones in a line do stay on really well but you have to fill the gap between your own lashes and the false eyelashes with eyeliner to cover it up. They don't and won't look natural but then again that is the idea is it not!!

Jackstini · 31/08/2007 16:41

Right - advice from a woman who sells eyelashes for a living..... (amongst other things!)

  • Clumps are harder to apply but look more natural (but maybe that is not the look you want here!)
  • Pre-glued are more prone to come off but good if you don't like messing with glue - but you have to get it spot on first time, you can't wiggle them round
  • Glue-on stay on the best and you will find more choice, plus you can put them on and then 'wiggle them' into the right place in the few seconds the glue takes to dry.
  • Boots and Superdrug both sell sparkly versions (Revlon 5.99?) You probably won't need mascara too but if you want it, apply after the lashes Have fun!
Jackstini · 31/08/2007 16:43

And don't forget your nails - get a rhinestone kit if you want to be creative or just go with the stick ons for ease
