right - am off on my hols in around 3 weeks
i am very pale - the glare off my milk bottle white skin will be alarming to all those within 50 feet of me
so - should i pay for a spray tan/St Tropez jobbie or attempt the job myself?
I have visions of being left looking patchy and my sheets covered in goop
if i DIY is St Tropez really the best stuff to go for?

Pay for it.

Aefondkiss · 23/08/2007 11:03

I would pay, it has to be worth it, think diy is for the dedicated people who like to look golden all the time, and are willing to spend the time perfecting the non-streaked look...

If you DIY with original St Tropez then your sheets will be covered with gloop. But, if you follow the very good instructions even a first-timer can get a very good result from St Trop original (though you will need to do more than 1 application and keep up with the moisterising etc)

Aparently, the St Trop "airport tan" is a really good spray-on tan.

I think, whilst I've thought of having a spray-on tan, I'm always nervous of the result. If I'm doing my own, I am confident that I will achieve a lovely non-patchy golden glow.

Pay for a spray tan - St Tropez airport is very good. Don't be alarmed by the very dark colour you go afterwards (you'll get progressively darker ansd more patchy looking as the day progresses, but sleep on it, have a shower in the morning and revel in your golden loveliness!). Use a moisturiser with hint of selftan, like those Johnsons ones - on holiday to keep it topped up. Spray tans rarely last longer than 5-7 days.

hermykne · 23/08/2007 14:51

having only had a spray tan done for the 1st time this year, its good value, you ll get 10 days out of it, you can top up with johnsons or stronger if you like.
exfoliate really well before you get it done.
wear nailvarnish to protect your nails. and a head band, tyhye usually give you a cap.
i had fake bake - loved it.

liking the sound of paying for spray tan as it is long lasting and then using the holiday skin to keep me golden and gorgeous
thanks all!

I would have a st trop hand applied - you get the same fab results and a all over body exfoliation/massage to boot - and no embarrassing standing around in paper knickers and a hair net choking on fake tan fog!

RubySlippers · 23/08/2007 16:30

at paper knickers!
nowt like a bit of glamour
