Jo Malone makes perfume line for Zara!

Just ordered some perfumes that are apparently created by Jo Malone at the v reasonable price of 3£ for 10ml. I'm a big fan of her Jo Loves perfumes but they are so expensive so hopefully these will be good. Apparently they are not cheap copies but she created them especially for Zara. Cant wait for them to arrive.....and no I dont work for them!

Mine arrived today - I love the Amalfi Sunray! Have yet to try the others (Vetiver Pamplemousse, Ebony Wood and Fleur d’Oranger).

Did anyone manage to get the sample set? I keep checking but it never seems to be in stock Sad

I read somewhere a while back that apparently the smell of grapefruit makes women be perceived as younger by men. Some obscure study, I think it was in Top Sante magazine or similar years ago. Needless to say I have tried a few grapefruit scents since then and as I gravitate towards sharper citrusy scents anyway I rather like that vibe. Of course I make sure I am always cutting up a grapefruit just as DH returns from a long trip away Grin. No idea how true this is ...

buckeejit · 07/12/2019 15:36

Haha, that's really interesting - I love grapefruit anyways

I bought the waterlily & a little tuberose & patchouli fleur (they were the only small ones left). All nice but not much longevity imo

I want to try the others in store. Just got a couple of perfume society boxes delivered & ordered 2 more so no real need for any more smells!

FreeStar · 07/12/2019 16:46

That's probably all a Jo Malone perfume is worth! They must be the most overrated perfumes ever!

Sarcelle · 07/12/2019 17:51

I was in a large branch yesterday. All sold out! I tried the Bluebell one. At first my nose was a bit eww but as I walked around it really grew on me.

Nanasueathome · 07/12/2019 20:29

They’re already listed on eBay....at inflated prices

ExpletiveFairylighted · 07/12/2019 20:31

I went and sniffed them all today, Waterlily Tea Dress was my favourite but not very long lasting.

TheCanterburyWhales · 09/12/2019 17:59

My sample set has arrived.
They're nice.
They're typical Jo Malone style uncomplicated inoffensive scents. But at a more realistic price tag. Can't see them changing the world, but for what they are, they're great.
I didn't dislike any of them- my favourites were Tuberose Noir (is it?) and the Vetiver one, with the bluebell coming up in third place.
The Waterlily thingy and the the Amalfi are your typical quite innocent light summery "wafty frock" scents.

Solihooley · 09/12/2019 18:04

Omg! I need the discovery set. Thanks for this thread.

Sarcelle · 09/12/2019 22:01

If anybody is interested, there were loads of all sizes on sale at the Victoria (London) branch this evening.

DonkeyHotty · 09/12/2019 22:07

I had four delivered last week. I liked the Vetiver Pamplemousse the most, followed by Amalfi Sunrise. The Ebony Wood and Bluebell one are going to be used as Christmas presents - they aren’t to my taste.

They are perfectly inoffensive, and good value for £16 or whatever I paid for a bottle. However they are nothing like as good quality as JM or Jo Loves (I am a big collector of both - use them every day). Their staying power isn’t bad though, but they do smell cheaper and don’t have the depth or complexity of Jo Malone or ‘the’ Jo Loves.

theseaisbrightfromhere · 12/12/2019 12:31

I ordered two when I saw this thread - still waiting for them - but tried them on instore yesterday. They are absolutely disgusting. I'm guessing you can't send perfume back Sad.

Sarcelle · 12/12/2019 14:04

I bought 6 of the roller balls.

So far tried the Tea Dress one, the Amafi one and the Pamplemousse one. First two are insipid and smell cheap, and disappear quickly. The Pamplemousse one is better.

I have 3 more to try over next three days.

Don't be me, try before you buy. I only smelt the Bluebell one as a tester (all they had in store at the time). I like that and that is one of the 3 I have yet to roadtest properly.

I would agree with PP. They do not have same depth as other JM offerings.

Zara "normal" perfumes last longer and feel more sophisticated. I am disappointed.

This purchase was a tangible example of FOMO.

theseaisbrightfromhere · 12/12/2019 14:22

It was Bluebell, and Tea Dress I tried - really nasty

Greenglassteacup · 02/01/2020 18:36

The scents don’t last at all unfortunately

SinglePringle · 02/01/2020 18:50

I generally dislike all Zara scents, finding them too generic and sweet but was interested in these, as they're from Jo Malone herself (as in ‘Jo Loves’) and not from the overpriced brand she’s sold.

Hated the vetivert and the bluebell one. Really disliked the latter. Like the orange flower and will probably wear it in the Spring. I also have the Tuberose Noir which is a good effort. Nothing like as good as the Miller Harris Tuberose Noir and doesn’t last long but not bad for a cheapy.
