I'm wearing it to my baby's baptism. I need a bit of a heel but can't do stilettos.

I'd wear it with heeled ankle boots.

Shockers · 02/11/2019 21:40

Is it the spotted midi dress?

CountFosco · 03/11/2019 08:01

I'd wear it with trainers or leather chelsea boots or knee high boots. Lovely versatile dress.

MsChatterbox · 03/11/2019 08:29

Some kind of boots and tights.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/11/2019 10:17

Heeled ankle boots

Spied · 03/11/2019 10:22

Block heel knee boots or ankles and opaque tights

Spainintherain · 04/11/2019 09:15

Thanks. It is the midi dress, yes.

It's for my baby's christening so I can't wear trainers that day. I am trying to find blue shoes or boots

I think it needs to be smartened up, so knee high suede boots would likely be my choice.

Bluntness100 · 04/11/2019 09:18

In black.

MarshaBradyo · 04/11/2019 09:19

Same as model, suede black knee high

MarshaBradyo · 04/11/2019 10:18

Another look hers are leather but still go for suede

CountFosco · 04/11/2019 11:00

Boden have a good selection of blue (and pink) shoes and boots. Personally, although I do sometimes wear black and navy together and think it can look chic, because of the pink spots I don't think black boots look right with this dress. I'd go for a very dark navy suede or possibly patent.

Spainintherain · 05/11/2019 21:10

Thanks a lot all.

I never look at Boden shoes so will go and see what they have.

Don’t go blue. That will look very matchy matchy. I’d opt for black. Or you could go for pointed toe in a bright warm colour if you are feeling adventurous.

ChequerBoard · 05/11/2019 21:53

I'd go with the blue boots as suggested, it would only be 'matchy matchy' if you also had a blue handbag and a hat.

There's nothing wrong with wearing two items of the colours that actually go together. All this wearing black shoes/boots just to avoid being considered too matchy is daftness I. The opposite direction. Black and blue looks like a bruise.

Spainintherain · 06/11/2019 19:15

Thanks for the link to the sainsburys boots too. The dress is really long on me so not much boot will even show so I'm going for a bit of height but comfortable at this stage. I'm 5'2 and my husband is 6'3 so I need to get some height for the photos,

MumWifeSoldierLife · 13/11/2019 22:10

A wedge shoe is always comfortable I find and gives you the height too 😊

There are some lovely M&S boots, these have a great heel that would help make it more dressy www.marksandspencer.com/velvet-block-heel-ankle-boots/p/clp60287800?color=BLACKMIX
or I've got a pair very like these that look like they may be uncomfortable but really aren't, I can happily wear them all day

Monsoon have nice blue boots here

CharlotteJonesie · 20/11/2019 10:53

I'd agree with other, the boots the model is wearing go well. Personally I'd wear a flat, and if you do need a bit of a heel, then perhaps something with a concealed wedge heel. Lanvin were well known for them, but a real investment, M&S have some in their range, and other like Cocorose have cheaper options.
