Brown Pigment - PLEASE Tell Me It Will Go..............

I got some of that hyper-pigmentation thingy when pg.

Had it on my forehead, uner eyes and eyelids.
Disappeared off my forehead and can hardly see it on my eyelids but under my eyes look awful and i have to use concealer to cover it (even though it doesn't ).

Also, last couple of months the dark areas have been sort of rough and dry sometimes .

So, do the marks ever go? if so how long? and whats going on with the dryness?

(Harumph - its all DS's fault )

I got what I thought was hyper-pigmentation with dd2

turned out it was a brand new wart

JeremyVile · 17/08/2007 15:28

Sod off about your bleedin' wart - show off!
You can just go and have it lobbed orf...

What about my BROWN BITS??

mine went almost straight away as I recall

concealer is next to useless, as you pat it in you actually pat it off!

Cappuccino · 17/08/2007 15:40

I can't have it lobbed off you heartless cow

it is flat and on the bridge of my nose and there is no skin there I have a very pointy nose

the doctor said it was a mare

I hope you are covered in warts now

I can confirm Capp's 'wart' is not visible to the human eye - well not mine anyway!

Mine were like 'tea stains' JV and just went.

Cappuccino · 17/08/2007 15:52

Nadine Nadine do I look pregnant?

cos today the third bloody person this summer has asked me if I am

and I am a size 10-12 ffs I have just lost half a stone

is it that I look radiant?

Anchovy · 17/08/2007 16:03

Don't like to put a downer on things here, but my DD is 4 in September and my hyper-pigmentation is still visible. Not as bad as in the last months of pregnancy, but deffo still there.

Its on my forehead. So far I have tried: waiting for it to go away like Miriam Stoppard says it will (useless); fancy creams (useless); microdermabrasion (not bad, but not brilliant and v. pricey); growing a fringe (surprisingly effective and free).

On the plus side, I have no warts.

NadineBaggott · 17/08/2007 17:44

Capp you most definitely do NOT look pregnant, do you have a lot of friends with labradors?

SofiaAmes · 17/08/2007 18:19

Are you still bfing...pigmentation is caused by hormones... so maybe your hormones are not back to normal yet.
I had pigmentation. I also had children fairly late and went straight from pregnancy/bfing hormones into perimenopausal hormones and didn't realize it and ended up going on the pill to help (it did). Try to get your gp to check your hormones or refer you to someone who can. If you are in London, Dr. Panay, one of the world's experts is there at Queen Charlotte's...I saw him and he was excellent.

Gobbledigook · 18/08/2007 11:44

Mine went straight away I think. Just a bit round eyes - it never went dry. Could you have reacted to something?

Capp - you do not look pg and I didn't see a wart either!

Cappuccino · 18/08/2007 12:35

I didn't think I did look pg but was beginning to get a bit wtf? about people keeping asking if I was

why labradors? ???

MrsScavo · 18/08/2007 12:42

I only got pigmentation the day before I was induced with DS2. (I spent the day lying in the april sun)I stil have it . OK, I have had another baby since then, but she's now 2!

TJuice · 19/08/2007 08:10

i have that right now, from the pill.

two things help:
Retin A cream
A new cream called Triluma

Both from a dermotologist and both prolly not while breast feeding or trying to get pregnant.

I was thinking though, that the Boots 17 wondercream that everyone went wild for (Repair and Protect Serum) is supposed to be as effective as Retin A for anti-aging. So it might help fade the marks.

Those other fading creams from Boots do not work.

Also, Boots have a factor 50 anti´brown spot sunscreen which will help prevent them.
