Washing hair-morning or night to prevent waves from damp weather?

Hi. Is it best to wash your hair at night in this case? Does it make a difference to how much the damp weather makes your hair spring back to wavy? The slightest damp weather ruins my straightened hair and I use a good dehumidifying spray, but it doesn't work if I'm out more than 10 minutes in the damp air. Would it help to start washing my hair at night?

My hair is definitely sleeker and less likely to go wavy if I wash it at night. If I do wash it in the morning, I find that wearing a hat (just a beanie style knitted acrylic one) for a few minutes after I’ve used straighteners, before I leave the house, helps make it sleek and less likely to go wavy.

I get frizz. Wearing a cashmere beanie helps. I don't straighten - gave up that palaver, but my hair is smoother after I take off my hat
