I left it ... the only thing that stops me is the weight of the thing... of course I could go back.
In Sweden I would buy it in southern England? Might be worn a couple of times if I decide to visit Scotland in winter (unlikely) or when I go skiing, walking to the bar after a day in the slopes... or those two weeks a year when it “snows” round here.
Gosh ... what do I do?

Redandblue11 · 22/11/2019 13:33

Well, I will probably not get it now cos I would need to drive half hour to a place I normally don’t need to drive . So is there waiting for warm another person.

Redandblue11 · 22/11/2019 13:34

...waiting to warm...

XingMing · 22/11/2019 13:51

Red, they weigh a ton, and I think down is warmer. Mine dates back to 1979, and after not wearing it for several years, I took the sleeves out so that it's a sort of hooded gilet... but it's still not worn often. And they are useless in the rain. But for £28, it will work for someone.

XingMing · 22/11/2019 13:56

Flo, thanks for the warning about jowls; not looking forward to that. Am starting to wonder about adopting the burqa to hide the saggy, wrinkly bits most of me.

Floisme · 22/11/2019 13:58

I quite like them and I think they have a certain kind of style. But then, as you know, I like a Barbour Grin If no good in the rain then that's a big minus. What would it cost to clean?

Floisme · 22/11/2019 13:59

I don't think there's anywhere to hide Xing We just have to keep moving!

XingMing · 22/11/2019 14:16

You're right Flo.

ToEllewithIt · 22/11/2019 21:18

I think you did make the right call on the coat red. It could look super cool, but I feel like you’d need to be really careful with the styling.

The attached blouse looks horrible in the photo, however with the top button undone and in it’s real life shade of a darker sapphire it’s really lovely. Worth keeping an eye out for a Black Friday deal.

Saw a fairly “bargainous” (relatively) new pair of Gianvito Rossi Laura boots in a 36 on off chance anyone is looking.

My green trench arrived and it’s gorgeous if I say so myself. I’ll try to photograph.

Kids are down and DH is out so I’m watching the Dries documentary and it’s only increasing my love for him!

ToEllewithIt · 22/11/2019 21:19

I'm relieved to hear you like the coat, Elle, I always get antsy recommending something that can't be returned 😬 looking forward to pictures and a quiet sob that I still haven't found one for me in a smaller size.

Hugo Boss have a private sale here at the moment, they stuffed up and sent the email with the code for Black Friday too early and then just apologised and activated it early, it's 30% off. Is the attached shirt the same, it looks really different in colour.

I saw two pairs of the GR heavily discounted on glammood (extra 25% off everything at the moment) in red and off white in my size, there's also a suede pair on yoox. Have briefly contemplated them but I think I have tried them on at some point and I think I declared them a little too sharpei on me.

Is this a new Dries documentary or the one that's been around for a while with the photographing of flowers in his enviable garden for the collection?

Making note of that Dries documentary, I assume is on Netflix? And enviable garden that gets me really excited FlowersFlowersFlowers

botemp · 23/11/2019 11:45

Not last time I checked. It was on public TV here so I can rewatch it on playback. I think there may be longish snippets on YouTube but it's not the full docu.

ToEllewithIt · 23/11/2019 18:10

It’s the old documentary, but it’s on Netflix in Ireland. I hadn’t seen it.

Glamood had the black with the extra 25% off, but they must have been snapped up.

ToEllewithIt · 23/11/2019 18:29

Bought this Zara tip which I’m quite happy with. It’s viscose so not amazing quality, but I promise looks well. In this photo I’d had it on all day including hours in the car so it looks a bit rumpled.

Elle those barganious boots sound fab, if you spot anything in 37.5 ideally that would be great Smile

Found the Dries documentary and I am in awe. What an enviable eye for detail!!
If I could have half of that garden! Or reclaim that area of the garden currently taken by trampoline and football goal ...

botemp · 24/11/2019 09:16

I like that blouse a lot Elle, very strong Jacquemus vibes except for the colour. May have a nose and see if they have one in here.

No Dries on Netflix Benelux Sad can I ask how long it is on Netflix, it's just under an hour here and I think it's a cut down version. Speaking of fashion documentaries, I'm very much looking forward to seeing this one about the ever mysterious Margiela and the thought he may be returning thrills me a little too much. Have already started a savings pot, just in case.

I was in Zara yesterday and left annoyed. This coat that looks very much like an Ami coat I lusted after but was at that time only available in their Paris women's store and sold out by the time I managed to get there. But the Zara one is 80% recycled polyester and 20% viscose. I mean great for the environment and all that nonsense but why??? That is never going to keep anyone warm not keep its sharp shape. Ugh.

(Had it been right, I'd probably have shortened it a bit).

Bo on Netflix here the documentary lasted 1hr 34 min

A shame about that coat, yes “sustainable” stuff that doesn’t serve its purpose (keeping you warm) or that doesn’t last a reasonable amount of time is anything but sustainable.

BloomedAgain · 24/11/2019 12:56

Very nice top Elle. I love a drape.
What a shame about that coat Bo. The shape looks amazing on you.
I can't handle bags on my shoulders at the moment so am considering a belt bag. Is this going to look ridiculous I wonder? Something minimal and in structured leather.
I'm also considering sewing inner pockets in my coats and blazers. I may destroy them though.

XingMing · 24/11/2019 12:57

Nice blouse Elle; may need a nose around Zara when I can get to the nearest one, but it's 50 miles away! Lamentably.

botemp · 24/11/2019 13:13

I've tried a few belt begs (Cos have some nice ones) but they just look really weird on me and they just seem to be really present and in the waht. I think it's just down to the fact that I don't carry off busy stuff around my waist anyhow. I have been contemplating getting a modern take on the 'fanny pack' to be worn diagonally. I've seen one at Yvonne Kone and Lemaire.

The Lemaire one is actually supposed to be a croissant, not an actual croissant like the lamp Elle posted so I wouldn't be able to eat it. Ahem, got up extra early this morning to get fresh baked croissants from the French bakery, have been hankering for one all week after seeing that lamp again Blush BTW, looks like you can just order it directly from Japan at pampshade.com, Elle, comes in cheaper too.

Any croissant lamps would trigger midnight baking attempts here. I've seen the Cos ones and am tempted. I like them worn diagonally but I'll have to see how they look on my waist, though I don't usually reach for belts.

banivani · 24/11/2019 14:08

I’ve lost my calorie counting mojo here - it’s so fucking dark and when it’s not actually dark it’s overcast so still fucking dark and I just want to eat sweets forever. My 12-yo needs a fair bit of attention atm and my husband is busy with school so I’ve also lost my evening walk mojo 😩. Have to get back on some sort of wagon.

Let us not forget that I am the mostest lover of wraps and drapes. I can’t find that blouse on Zara’s website though Elle, which might confirm my suspicion that we don’t often get the good stuff here ...

Bo, I was thinking I might go for a modern bumbag too. They look so practical. Those ones were v nice, out of my budget though. Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep my eye out for similar.

There are SO MANY coats made out of bloody polyester out there. Recycled polyester being the “sustainable choice” is the biggest scam going. And I popped into my town’s only proper boutique yesterday and saw a jumper (have forgotten the brand) that was 40% acrylic and cost 450 euro. FOURHUNDREDANDFIFTY. Bloody hell.

Floisme · 24/11/2019 14:26

Can I just say I have sporadic shoulder trouble and when it's bad, I wear a fanny bag holster style, like in that pic and have done so for years.

So take that and smoke it, Instagram.

Mine is nylon and I think it cost £5.99 from the indoor market. It weighs next to nothing (which is the main thing) but I've grown kind of fond of its shameless ugliness.

BloomedAgain · 24/11/2019 15:43

You're a trendsetter Flo.
I may resort to an asos bum bag to see if I actually use it. I'm becoming a fan of shameless ugliness in the name of comfort.
