Not sure this belongs in "Style" but I need a new across-the-body handbag for daytime use
Medium to large size.
Needs to be comfy as my shoulder is aching from all my others.

All suggestions welcome

Radley do quite a nice one in black. Have a look in House of Fraser.

Love my Radley across body bag, very comfy!

TheBlonde · 16/08/2007 17:00

Is it quite flat though? could you fit a beaker in it?

I usually end up buying 'man bags' as I'm 6' 2" and women's across body bags usually finish about nork level. My current one is from DEbenhams and is a lovely soft tan leather 'satchelly' thing with a very long strap. But I could never be called a style guru............... so maybe this is deeply uncool. Not that I care

Gobbledigook · 18/08/2007 11:46

Love my Radley one too - they come in 2 sizes and I've got the smaller one as I don't carry much more than purse, lip gloss, mobile.

Gobbledigook · 18/08/2007 11:47

Oh sorry, mine owuld be no good - it's flat and you wouldn't get a beaker in.

Perhaps you need a more sporty looking one?

nell12 · 18/08/2007 11:50

Radley Radley Radley!!

But be warned, once you step into Radley territory, it is an expensive hobby that you cannot escape from!!

The Radley Messenger bags (across the shoulder) come in different sizes with adjustable straps and could fit a beaker at a push

JackieNo · 18/08/2007 11:54

Or something, as GDG says, a bit sportier (also comes in grey)?

JackieNo · 18/08/2007 11:57

This might do, but looks more like a changing bag than a handbag.

mamado · 18/08/2007 12:37

I know people love Radley but IMO they are not very pretty. Check out handbags and gladrags dot com (can't do links) - they have some very pretty, good quality and unusual bags and their service is fantastic.

Dp would confirm that I know from experience

I use an orla kiely mid sling bag - carries all the necessary and you can have it across the body or shorten the strap and use as a girlie type bag. Has a proper bottom so stands down no prob. Expensive though but I think worth it.
