Spotted this for sale for £300 in a local charity shop today. Can't decide if u should go back in the morning to see if it's still there and buy it. What do you think? The colour is a bit unusual.....

It’s horrible, there are much nicer bags out there brand new for £300

DameXanaduBramble · 26/10/2019 21:43

Get back and buy it, op!

thinkfast · 27/10/2019 01:21

Hmmm... I don't love it.

But I do need a new large handbag and was tempted as it seemed to be a big reduction from new. If it was a different colour I would be much more easily tempted...

If you don't love it, don't buy it! Chloe is only a brand name, the same as anything else. It might be slightly better quality than high street... it might not. It might even be fake, then you're paying well over the odds.

Save your money for something you actually like.

I think you’ve had your head turned by the fact it’s a designer piece ( allegedly) at a low price but you’re actually trying to persuade yourself into it. I’ve done this at a much lower level with a Stella McCartney cardigan I found in a charity shop. I bought it because it was a “find” while ignoring the reality that it doesn’t look that nice on me. What colour would you have chosen if you could have a colour bag ? What style would you ideally choose? When would you actually use this bag if you bought it and would you be looking at it everyday going I wish you were actually this instead.

MistyMinge2 · 27/10/2019 06:32

I really like it, but 300 is a lot of money if you're not 100% sure, especially if it turned out to be fake. Why don't you look for something new in that price bracket.

thinkfast · 27/10/2019 07:31

Right. Don't love it. Not buying it.

That’s still a lot of money. I would look for something you really love

Good call OP

Spied · 27/10/2019 07:51

Good call. It's awful.

cccameron · 27/10/2019 11:49

I absolutely loved my Chloe Marcie but it was black and a good 15 years ago now

Absolutely agree don't buy it if you don't love it, especially at £300 second hand!

Blingysolightly · 27/10/2019 14:04

Good call, if you don't love it! I have the Chloé Marcie in the salmon colour and it's a stunning bag. Definitely not dated, and still regarded as a classic. However, I didn't appreciate how heavy it is, a bit like Mulberry Bayswater, so don't use it as much.

TattiePants · 27/10/2019 14:11

Good call OP. I still like the Marcie Hobos in classic colours but I think the tote looks very dated.

Years ago I wanted a black or navy Chloe Paraty bag. A pinky-red one from a trusted re-seller came up for the 'bargain' price of £600 so I bought it and then hardly used it as the colour wasn't right. Fortunately I sold it for a similar price.
