Warm stylish cardigan to wear under coat

I need a warm cardigan that is not too bulky but look stylish with work clothes (pencil/midi skirts, not necessarily corporate look) or to wear as an extra layer under a coat when going out.
Any suggestions?

I would invest in a cashmere cardigan as they are so warm and usually not bulky
