Need a new foundation

Evening all,
Can anyone recommend a good foundation that gives good coverage but doesn't look too heavy and is also long lasting? Ive tried estee lauder double wear and Kat Von D but they either don't stay on or are far too heavy. Thank you x

@CurlyTwirlyTwos like a beauty blender sponge? Or is there another contraption that will miraculously improve my make up? 😂

If you're using a beauty blender or sponge, wash it after every use. It won't give a good result if it's dirty and you're risking adding bacteria to your skin.

L'Oreal True Match and their Pro Glow formulas are the best "budget" foundations I've tried.

Double wear can be tricky if you've got dry skin or texture (like you're seeing under your eyes and around your nose). Good skin care can help, and make sure that you moisturise about 15 minutes before you apply foundation.

I like Nars sheer glow or their tinted moisturiser, but I'm using Mac's new foundation stick at the moment and really like it.

Lancome teint idole is great!

Another vote for BB long wear foundation. I usually apply with my fingers but if I want a heavier coverage I use a stippling brush. It's very buildable and I often apply a second layer just where I need it using my fingers

Another great product it IT CC creme. I got mine from qvc so could return if not right.
I love it, it's lighter than foundation but still full coverage

ginyogarepeat · 25/10/2019 09:06

@JustLikeJasper did you try the double wear light version though? Much lighter than the normal one!

Brilliant! Glad you like it. How did you find the True Match?

BearFoxBear · 31/10/2019 21:08

Wish I'd seen this thread before I spent £28 on KVD Lock It. It's sitting in my wrinkles and making me look old af Hmm.

Back to BB skin foundation I think.

JustLikeJasper · 31/10/2019 22:02

@Redspider1 i bought the wrong shade of the true match, more of a going out colour than an every day so only used it once. Im happy with just using the primer and CC cream day to day now with a little mac powder on top as its a little shiny! X

I hope you love the ones you've got, but if you are still looking after that, I suggest Maybelline Superstay foundation. It gives very good coverage but is not quite as heavy as DW. It lasts well and for a high coverage foundation it manages to not be completely flat and baked-on/chalky looking. I really rate it (and I've been through lots and lots and lots of foundations from Dior Foreverskin to Armani and Bourjois and Double Wear and Rimmel and Touche Eclat foundation and Chanel Vitalumiere and No7 and CYO Lifeproof etc... etc.... etc... but the Superstay, I am really impressed with as a winter foundation and also its longevity on the skin.

JustLikeJasper · 01/11/2019 06:22

@DaisyTulip thank you will keep that in mind x

I currently like Laura geller balance and brighten in medium, it blends colour well without having a match up exact tone every month as my skin changes colour into the winter - but it’s starting to get harder to get hold of, so they might have stopped making it.

Have you checked on QVC? They flog it on there. I prefer the balance and glow myself. it tends to not run down my face when my eyes water.

Don't get me wrong- it is not waterproof - I do end up with patches around my eyes if I have had a very teary flow but it is better than most liquid/cream foundations.

@JustLikeJasper thanks, I'm off to buy some right now! Grin
